I did go to the hospital thdy couldn't hrlp
Can't sleep because can't breathe
you'll be alright, don't worry. just like the doctors said.

the distress and anxiety felt from slower breathing are the worst part, but it shouldn't be anything too serious (if you have no underlying condition..).

don't try to force sleep. I couldn't even sit let alone lay down let alone sleep. I was going walking back and forth the whole time.

I took meto before as a practice run, and was jumpy and restless as fuck. Fyi it took one day for the drug to exit my system. So hang in there I think it just takes time.

for real though https://sanctioned-suicide.net/thre...fect-i-experienced-with-metoclopramide.70373/

I wonder why we don't hear about meto side effect more often from users. I guess it doesn't affect everyone the same but my experience with it was honestly traumatic.

Is it an allergy attack?

I've also noticed that sometimes it feels like I can't breath because the humidity level of the room is too low. I suggest drinking water, and maybe wetting some towels and hanging them in the room where you are.

And take activated charcoal. It will absorb whatever you have taken, or at least some of it. (Every person should always have activated charcoal in their home, it has saved me many times.)

Also, check that your neck and chest muscles aren't tight. Having relaxed and stretched muscles makes it easier to breath. Often going outside helps as well, fresh air is always good. And walking around a few minutes helps too.

Lastly, focus on calming yourself. Look at the cutest animal video you can find. Because the more you focus on your breathing, the harder it is to breath.

I hope you will feel better soon.

I know that meto can cause restlessness and Akathisia(a feeling of jumping out of your skin..going crazy because of it). Benadryl(diphenhydramine) can counteract the restlessness part of your problem.

I wish you the best in the meantime. Hopefully those terrible side effects subside ASAP.

Very glad to read that you're feeling better. I was at work and wasn't checking my phone during all of this, so it's a big relief.

Are you able to sleep now?

It seems to have been the meto only. My experience with it was horrible but I suggest vomiting and peeing it all out. So keep drinking water. I feel much better now.

I'm glad you are still with us and feeling better. I got sick from meto too. It was a couple years ago. I was really sick in my stomach. I don't remember any breathing issues. I don't think I threw up but felt like it. At least I think.
As @Insomniac mentioned... I don't know if there is a thread about this but I know we discussed it somewhere here.
I would have to look it up. If it's still here.

I didn't realize you're still with us, just read through this thread after the other day. I'm glad you are feeling better. Whatever is happening don't beat yourself up.
Also meto, an anti-emetic, can have the possible side-effect of nausea and vomiting? I suppose nausea is a common side-effect of many medications but that just seems wrong.

The symptoms i felt were heart racing, shortness of breath, insomnia. Basically every time I lay down to sleep my breath felt really fast and weird. I couldn't go to sleep, i couldn't breathe, body felt restless. I tried to make myself drink some water and throw up, i did. After i had thrown up all i could, i drank water and peed out whatever had been absorbed by my body. It took time. I still don't feel 100% okay even though it's been over 12 hours since I took the meds. But I'm better.

Yes
Seems reasonable, hopefully less than that too.

I assume they did but did the doctor take your blood pressure? Or anything else that you can focus on to relax?

I would drink water and try to relax to some music, or follow doctor's instructions if they were different to my suggestion.
Yes my blood pressure was normal

I'm late but have read whenever they need to stop or subdue side effects from meto, they have you take a benadryl (diphenhydramine). If you're still feeling icky maybe taking like a half could help ease some discomfort. So glad you're still with us

@liberty_222 Could it be low blood sugar? I get like that when my blood sugar is low. Have you eaten anything substantial? If not you probably should.

It was definitely the metoclopramide causing akathisia.

I hope you are feeling better now? I didn't know Meto could do that and I'm glad I know now. I'm going via nitrogen and exit hood because I didn't want to have to go through that process of using antiemetics.

If the symptoms keep returning you might be able to alleviate them with more meto.
It can be risky during withdrawal from psychiatric meds to go back up to standard doses. For treating withdrawal, it's better to reduce doses to a fraction of the norm.
survivingantidepressants.org has tapering guides on how to mix meds in water but this can't be done with all of them. For best results you would have to make an account to ask them.
For more info
https://www.survivingantidepressant...nd-stabilizing-to-reduce-withdrawal-symptoms/
https://www.survivingantidepressants.org/topic/2693-how-to-make-a-liquid-from-tablets-or-capsules/

I hope this info isn't necessary and the akathisia has already subsided. If you're still experiencing effects then I hope this is helpful.

I have domperidone, will definitely start a thread to compare it with meto when the time comes. I hope you're okay Liberty, take your time, maybe this is an opportunity to rethink your decision. Never ctb with doubts, you never know how strong your SI coud be.
I'm feeling a little restless and uncomfortable again. I don't really have benadryl though.
Cetirizine would also work to help with sleep, so you don't have to be conscious while being sick

I'm reading this thread, the news likes to point out how users on here "encourage" others to ctb. But do they talk about how people comfort people who decided not to, telling them they did nothing wrong in not ctb and telling them they are here for them? No. This really is a pro choice site, no matter what the choice. I only sense love and compassion here. Not just when it fits someone's agenda. Don't worry, one day, maybe hundreds of years from now, people won't believe that it used to be standard to not give people a choice of what they do with their body.
She's a badass chick who takes no bull. I hope you're okay @liberty_222. I'm secretly glad you decided not to go through. I think about how you said the beta-blockers calmed you down and was thinking you didn't even know that could work for you - imagine what else is out there? Anyway, please take care of yourself. If you need medical attention you don't need to say it was an attempt either.
I have meds that work for me but dr won't prescribe them bc they are controlled. I think I could delay ctb for longer if I had them. Drug laws, hm.
