Today is the day. Im currently in a rented cabin, and have it rented for 6 days. I have a 30lb of charcoal, 3 chimney starters, and 2 large ash buckets. I also deactivated the cabin smoke alarm, put it in a shower cap inside 2 layers of zip lock bags, and put it in the freezer lol. I have set up a program to message my family and the campgrounds about my hopeful death and the CO 12 hrs before my checkout time for the cabin.
Plan:
In a couple of hours, I will burn 6 chimney starters worth of charcoal. I will burn the 3 chimney starters, dump the charcoal in the first ash bucket, and move it to the bathroom. I will repeat and fill up the second ash bucket.
Cabin bathroom is small with only a sink and a toilet. The door is a sliding door that doesn't close properly, but I have waterproof gorilla duct tape and towels to block the gaps. Since it's a cabin, there are a few minor gaps in the walls, but HOPEFULLY it won't be an issue. I've read articles of people dying to CO for trivial reasons on accident. It'd be a cruel joke if I survived.
Backup plans:
I have enough charcoal to try and try again. If I survive the first time, hopefully ill have enough CO in my blood to kill me on attempt 2.
I have a waterproof single layer tent. If the bathroom doesn't work, I'll set up the tent indoors. I could use the tent first, but idk if it'd melt or not or if its a good one. I did my best to research something similar to the tent zanexxx used (something obtainable in the usa)
As a last resort I have my 2012 sedan. It's my last resort for two reasons: 1)its out in the open. Someone might see me. 2)its hot and humid as hell outside.
I will be updating this thread. Updates might come slow or not at all since the service is bad out here.
Wish me luck.
