sounds difficult, don't the people in those places specifically try to prevent this? try to get out by "behaving" and pretending to be better. When you get out you can do it.

Just wait until you're released, they're only going to keep you for even longer when they find you.

You can't. Not saying it's 100% impossible, but on the rare occasions it does happens it makes the news because it's the result of negligence in the hospitals part. Those places are made to be suicide proof. Even if you did manage to get your hands on something potentially lethal, they're checking on you often enough they'd interfere before it killed you.

You would have a higher chance at finding a job then successfully doing a CTB in a hospital.

In the mental hospital, the staff does rounds every 15 minutes where they check every single patient to make sure they know where they're at and what they're doing.

They have learned that it takes at least 15 minutes to find someone trying to kill themselves like hanging. 15 minutes is enough time to stop any attempt.

Oldish post, but are you still stuck? Assuming you are in the U.S., 5150's or any temporary involuntary hospitalization are 72 hours so I'm hoping you're free now.

But if not I'd strongly recommend against. The best advice is really to just obfuscate and lie about yourself until they release you, either from the deadline or following a checkup. If you make an attempt, that gives them cause to push for a 5250 which means you are going to be stuck for another 14 days.

Either way, hope you are free already and enjoying your own bed. Psych hospitals suck :(
