if anything, this forum has only convinced me against cbt. this forum has been the only things that has helped me, i 100% believe i would've attempted ages ago if i didn't have this resource/outlet. without this forum i would probably be dead by now.

I agree, had a horrible day reaching the end and felt inconsolable grief. Everyone here was so kind and after the depths of the black hole I was in abated some I really felt deeply touched by it. It helped me through some of the worst pain in my life.

I think you should write an article of your own to counter it!

as good as the sentiment is, this is a really bad idea. drawing media attention to the site is a recipe for complete disaster. please, the people who understand and the people who need us will find us. prolifers will never stop and never understand. i want this place to continue existing.

I agree. If you Google the site name though there is article after article of negativity towards the group and fear mongering to sell articles. Like when the news places like to scare parents on the latest drug your teenager is going to use, dungeon and dragon satanic cults, just absurd fear mongering to print articles. That this website is the sole purpose behind suicides cause we peer pressure everyone to do it and cheer each other on. It's so absurd and biased.

I read some articles online I'm sure many of you have read that criticized the forum saying that we are all here cheering each other on to commit suicide and encouraging people to commit suicide. That without coming here people could have gotten help and not committed suicide. That the site takes advantage of teenagers and vulnerable people and socially encourages suicide. I read that they're trying to pass laws to get it shut down.

When I joined the site I got a bunch of pills and counted them up and asked how successful I would be. I was told that it was 50/50 and I could die or be a vegetable and wake up to potential horrible health consequences and be alive having to experience that.

So the site saved me from what could have been a horrible experience. If I got assurance it would work who knows what would have happened to me.

If someone seems unsure about suicide I see people on the site encouraging them to take the time they need to be sure. To make a clear decision and not an irrational one.

When someone has made a decision to CTB people here support it and don't judge the person. I have never seen someone on the fence, who hasn't made a final decision being pushed or pressured by everyone into suicide.

When someone says goodbye people offer words of comfort and peace. They are there for them when they have no one in the last moments of their life. The people here care to be with them when no one else is.

The people in the group are the most empathetic, kind, honest people on any forum. If you look at YouTube and Twitter and Reddit with people fighting and telling people go kill yourself this place is actually one of the nicer more positive interaction communities to be a part of.

People can be heard and listened to and understood more here than any other place. People here support you more than any real life family or friends do.

Just because people accept your personal choice I just don't see these criticisms of the site as fair. That people are mindlessly coming here and committing suicide soley because of the site. I feel the opposite about this place. I think it's filled with the most wonderful people I have ever met.

You're not going to get many people disagreeing when the compliments aimed at them. This would be better served telling the people who criticise it

This place is so oddly supportive as in, I feel the most free here. I can vent and more importantly be honest with how I feel about life.

I mean I still gonna ctb at some point but this place give the strength to shoulder on until climate change comes knocking at my door
