Looks like we're heading for another lockdown here in the UK, so...

1) What are people's thoughts on Covid - are we being given the facts or are they making it up as they go along?

2) How do you think another lockdown will affect people's mental health and wellbeing?

Personally I think society is just about ready to pop and/or implode, I think a lot of people won't be able to cope with covid part deux.

I'm also not sure if the govt and health service know what is really going on, or what they're doing.

Tbh, I was happy to be forced to stay inside and for once it felt like the world was playing by ""my"" rules.
But it killed a family member I loved and I wish it was me in their stead..

People here have gotten better about waiting their turn for an elevator and wearing masks. It's interesting how masks have become part of basic clothing, and not having one is akin to being naked around others due to shame and stigma. School "might" start again next month.

My kids started telling people "hey, wear a mask and care about other people". Typically people will look down at the ground and stop making eye contact.

Over here one woman was asked to wear a mask so she exploded in a rage and smashed up the store. There's been a few of them apparently.

I've seen a bunch of those on the news and reddit. It's sad and funny to see adults go into such a rage about something as simple as a mask.

Perhaps so little control and emotional freedom in life they're either looking for a reason to blow up, or they think the world is trying to control them by asking them to care.

I don't believe we will go into another full lockdown, the one they threaten now is curfew, and limited number of family which is bullshit, esp for larger families.

Mental health effects a lot of people, but I know more who have not been effected by it, and they are living and have lived life as normal within restrictions allowed.

The UK couldn't survive another lock down, people will start to fight back, schools now near me say parents have to wear masks to pick up! Yet they are all outside?
2 potential covid cases in the school near me today.
BUT infections are rising, yet deaths are down, says a lot more then the goverment ever could

I suggest you look for more information on why people are angry, than making such a flippant comment about it. I guess your job and home are all taken care of, not everyone is doing as well as you are in these lockdowns. Anxiety and masks do not go well together.

You never know, if we have to wear these masks long enough, people showing their faces in public could become a sexual thing. If it slides down and their nose starts to peek out over the top, it will become known as "face cleavage". :pfff:

Lol, I've seen a few reddit post where people say nose popping out feels like the penis popped out in public, and they panic to cover up.

Boogeyman of 2020. CDC (the official authority on diseases in my country) came out with the numbers last week or the week before. It was something like 4% of those listed as COVID deaths (approximately 9600) died from COVID alone; the remaining had other diseases/complications. So if we round up to, say, 10000 in a country of 3.3 million, that is like 3 deaths for every 100,000 people. As a man you are 7-8 times more likely to die by your own hands. And they say the interruptions in normal life are spurring increase in the suicide rate.

The UK government has handled the whole thing pretty poorly. We should have been more prepared. We've already had sars, mers, swine flu, bird flu, ebola etc.

Personally I think the whole thing is a massive scam...I'm not saying that there is no illness, I'm sure that there is, it's just that, either they made it on purpose, or they are lying about all the statistics...What exactly I don't know, and we probably never will but I really do not trust the whole thing and think its a scam.

Also, tbh I don't really put that much effort into wearing a mask in the hope that it will kill me. Would be a good excuse to go without suicide...

What tool do governments have to control their people outside of fear, really? You are smart to suspect something is up. People are getting very, very afraid. That is why people are smashing up stores and refusing to wear a mask. They know that fear is control. Deep down, they're already very afraid and they are lashing out.

The question on everyones mind is, what's next? Will the quarantining, seperation of families and travel bans continue? Just a year ago the world was more connected that it ever has been in human history. It doesn't look like we're going to stay so connected, physically. And that saddens me deeply. I wish for all people to atleast be with their loved ones and to be able to travel and see the world.

Our governments can brainwash us, control our minds. It's a scary world we live in, but don't be afraid.

I think covid is a very legitimate threat. Virus's evolve and we've had quite a few new ones in the last 10 years. If there is another lockdown things wont go well.. for every country. I dont think the govt or health have a single clue what is going on. I think they will rush out a vaccine that will in the long term be worse than the virus itself.

The vaccine that no one should trust is the Russian one lol. I'm concerned that this Russian vaccine or any rushed vaccine will give the anti vaxxers more ammunition.

With the way people haven't been taking it seriously, I'm glad it's covid and not Ebola which was way more deadly.

I think I would be more concerned about the China vaccine.
If you don't wear a mask in public you are just an inconsiderate little bitch.

I wear a mask when I am required to. I break out is a cold sweat, my nose runs like an open tap. My heart rate goes up. I am one the verge of tears and yes I am short to anyone that I have to speak with. Not rude, But I do not want to carry on a conversation with someone that I can not understand what they are saying behind their mask. I am having an anxiety attack, I can not handle having a mask on my face. I am quick to do what it is I need to get done.
I am not a bitch, that is a female dog.
Just because you and some others, may not have the same panic that some have, should not mean you can't respect what others feel when they have to put a mask on.

I am really pissed at how our useless govt has handled it all. Consistent guidelines that they adhere to, to set an example, would've been a start. But now they seem to be pushing an agenda whilst the country tries desperately to get back to normal.
the people who believe them are turning against the youngsters who have generally worked throughout and then gone to the pubs and eaten out as encouraged by the govt.
There's civil unrest brewing without a doubt.
