Covid is wrecking havoc here. 10,000+ deaths every day unofficially. Just heard the news about my best friend's mom dying. My neighbours are dying. People I follow are dying. If anything happens to my mom, I'll CTB within a week of it. She's the only reason I live.

If you've smoked for over 40 years like my parents have, it seems covid is lethal. I'm really worried about them.

It's a heavy risk factor . In US we are one of the worst affected and we have a big population of obese , elderly , who smoked throughout a lifetime

Yeah. With a billion people, it was bound to happen. It's going to stay this way a couple of months atleast.

We vaccinated 15 million (fastest in the world). But the thing is we have 135 million people. So it's going to be impossible to vaccinate everyone in another 2 months atleast

I also think the data is really undercounted there. Anyone who spent any time in a third world country or even a poor part of a rich country would know this. There's still a huge part of the world off the grid and they aren't making their way into these stats.

I think by the time it's all said and done india will probably have more deaths than the US. On a per capita basis I doubt it but in total deaths absolutely

Thats true. Acutal figures of death are 2-3 times higher at the very least. Actual figures of infection are 10s of times higher

I am from India as well. Where I live, I hear an ambulance siren going past every hour. It's just crazy. I live alone. I left my job just before the 2nd wave hit. So nobody is here to help. If I get the virus now and it gets serious, I am kaput.
Which I wish would happen. So many people are desperately fighting to live. I would happily trade places with them. It is unfair that those people who really want to live are unable to and people like me who are without any purpose and want to go, are alive.

Sorry to read that, it was always going to affect densely populated countries the most, horrible to see on the news some girl giving her mum mouth to mouth outside a hospital because there was no space for her . It will keep happening and even worse in Africa etc where they don't have any vaccines and a lot of people have HIV already, I feel very sorry for them.

Well, if politics is a part of life, shouldn't there be healthy discussions between people with opposing view points instead of blocking each other?

Wrong. When you post stuff about Trump in a thread about something else, you'll get a bunch of people talking about Trump, effectively derailing the thread. I don't like Trump either, but you don't have to bring him up everywhere.
