It was okay I went to a Japanese food festival today and then checked out a new-ish donut shop on the way home (their lavender draft milk was delish). There were some incidents here and there but I don't regret going.

The lines were so long that I just had a strawberry yuzu lemonade and some karaage.

I was standing in a really long line for onigiri but when it was finally my turn to order, someone on the health inspection team (?) came over and shut down the onigiri booth.

They were like "you can't sell this here in this weather--this is sushi" to the vendor. Despite the fact that it's onigiri...and all the fillings like grilled salmon and spicy tuna aren't raw. And when that didn't work, they went with "this rice is too hot for this weather" I wanted to be like "ma'am, just let me sign a waiver to not sue for food poisoning, buy some onigiri, and then go on my way."
