Yes, I did some house sitting for a rich lady about 9 years ago. She went to Florida for the winter and needed someone to
watch the house and take care of her cats. It was dope.

Some people have way too much money lol. I could never see myself letting anyone live in my house and look after my pets while im in a completely different state (even if they seemed nice).

Well, I knew the lady and she trusted me implicitly. Huge house in the suburbs. There are so many very wealthy New Yorkers that have money to burn. I heard she is now doing an Airbnb thing with house when she goes to Florida. I hope she screens the tenants well because she has a lot of expensive stuff in that house.

I just don't trust people, hell, I couldn't even trust anyone in my family to hang my underwear on the clothesline! 😂

In saying that, it's probably a lot safer for this kind of stuff nowadays. It's next to impossible for someone not to leave an electronic trail of their identity so even if they do steal something valuable/fuck your home up the police will almost certainly catch up with them unless they went to the police chief wiggum school of investigation.

Police Give GIF

This topic is actually a perfect segue to a youtube video ive been meaning to show you. This case perfectly encapsulates the dangers of letting the wrong tenant into your home:

Be warned, this is a fairly graphic one, far more graphic than those Nick Crowley ones I showed you on here a while ago. But it's also fascinating because the perpetrator is close to a perfect criminal and he may never be caught.

In 2017, using his DNA left at the crime scene they composed this suspect sketch of the offender:

Screenshot 20221029 2246502

If you can't tell, it's practically useless. This new type of science is commonly inaccurate when it comes to determining people's facial features and the digital sketches tend to end up even more generic than the police artist sketches. In short, hardly any of these have helped in actually apprehending offenders. I guess it's worth a try though 🤷

Edit: forgot to mention it's quite a long video lol (25mins)

I find it amazing how many random unsolved murders there are that you just never hear about because they're not interesting enough for the mainstream media.

You only hear about ones like that son of sam guy who was shooting people in new york, jeffrey dahmer, ted bundy, the boston strangler, etc. The story above is something worthy of a hollywood horror movie plot and the majority of people would have never heard of it.

Also, sorry if this stuff is too unsettling for you. Feel free to tell me because I know it's not everybody's cup of tea. I've just always had a morbid fascination for the worst parts of humanity so I find the psychology behind stuff like this intriguing.

Nothing bothers me. I've seen many people being brutally beaten on the streets by thugs. I guarded a large Bronx hospital and saw many people with head trauma, gunshot wounds, knife wounds....you name it. I didn't like to see that stuff because it does get to you after a while. Something on a documentary is definitely not going to bother me. It's just incredible that there are "people" capable of torture and murder of an innocent man.

BTW, I knew the building where David Berkowitz lived. I had a friend that lived on his block.Pretty nice neighborhood back in the day.

Oh wow, that's fascinating, it must have been a scary time! Were any of the shootings around your area? I don't know a whole lot about the murders just that most of the victims were couples.

It's terrifying what humans are capable of.

When I was 17 I did work experience in a hospital. Thankfully I never saw any of those monstrosities that you saw but it was just a depressing place to be around, I would rather take a bullet to the brain than be living in that place full time.

The Son of Sam first struck on July 29, 1976, targeting two young women in the Pelham Bay section of the Bronx. Shots rang out shortly after 1:10 a.m., and Donna Lauria, 18, and her friend, 19-year-old Jody Valenti, were both struck by bullets while sitting in Valenti's car. One bullet killed Lauria instantly.

I know Pelham Bay very well. Berkowitz didn't live in NYC. He lived in a city that bordered the Bronx.

Here is an interview with Larry Kiing.

I think Berkowitz turned Christian when he was in jail. He was born Jewish. I think at one point in the interview Larry King, who is Jewish, said to Berkowitz something along the lines of "You know, we're Jewish. We're not supposed to do these kinds of things" LOL I have watch it again. I haven't seen it in many years.

I'm 5mins in, im amazed at how civil this conversation is, it's like they're two old mates catching up on the weekend. Berkowitz looks like any old regular joe you'd walk past on the street and not think twice about it. It was hard not to laugh when Larry brought up the 300 years or whatever without parole and then Berkowitz casually responds with some ridiculously long spiel. Absolutely bonkers.

On a less depressing note, im sure you've seen this Larry King interview with Jerry Seinfeld? 😂

I have to go out now. The Seinfeld episode where Newman had Berkowitz's mailbag and he was using it to help Kramer bet on airline fights with the aTexas businessman was hilarious.

Here is Jiminy Glick ( Martin Short) interviewing Seinfeld.

Ok I will speak to you soon. Please watch that, it's very funny.
