It's a way of telling someone to shut up, and essentially means: Don't speak if you have nothing meaningful to speak of.

Though, in some contexts, it can also mean: It's beneficial for you to not say anything at the moment.

Oh, shit. I've been there so many times before... Aahh, there's nothing you can really do other than ride the high. The nervous system's fighting to stay afloat instead of depressed.
Do something nice for yourself when you crash; it'll make it slightly more tolerable. Energy is energy, at least!

I remember I had a manic episode where I didn't feel tired for 40 hours in a row... it was fun, but it was weird to sleep through a full day afterwards.
