  • Hey Guest,

    Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

    This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

Could we make Survival Instinct (SI) 'curable'? Or at least dampen it.

How do we get past the SI barrier?

Possible Solution: DIY Vaccine;
Think how anything gets cured
Symptoms are recorded and a antidote or vaccine gets produced.

Shall we try this with SI too?

Something that could be a SI 'Cure':
1. Alcohol
2. Altered state of mind (Toxic Positivity)

This is just experimental thinking, but what if?
Plus I need to squash SI like a bug to max out CTB potential.

Any suggestions, lads?

Unfortunately survival instinct comes from the brain stem, the oldest and most primitive part of the brain. Obviously, the will to survive at all costs has been pretty important to the survival of our species to this point, so it's not something we contrive consciously or can exert much control over. Still, we can have some limited success in modulating this response with gabaergic drugs, as they can inhibit core cognitive and emotional activity. The most obvious choices here for most would be alcohol and benzodiazepines.

Even with those, SI is hard to shake. I had both on my exit bag attempt and backed out. Another 30 seconds and I wouldn't be replying to this.

Yeah same here. I've tried to loosen myself up many times but it's just like impossible for me to shake the feeling when push comes to shove. Pretty wild how resilient us humans are in some ways,

There is no way to cure the survival instinct as we are programmed to survive. It is how we have evolved. The SI means that ctb is very difficult. However many people have successfully ctb which shows that it can be overcome. Many of those people were likely extremely desperate or were in unbearable pain and they couldn't cope with this life any more. They were therefore able to leave this world.

My survival instinct has already been cured by the incessant anguish caused by OCD.
