The cops are not there to help you. Give as little information as necessary, if any at all. You don't want to go through the hell that is a psych ward.

You should be a little more careful next time, although I know losing your cool like that is not something you can necessarily control.

Explain that you're not usually so highly strung, but you've foolishly been bottling things up and something happened today which just pushed you right over the edge and you blew up. I agree. I had an ex girlfriend call me one night saying she was afraid of taking her own life. I came over and she had also been drunk calling people. I also got a text from her mom asking me what happened. As I glanced around I noticed she had a few steak knives on her coffee table.

Her mom had called the police to check on her and I answered the door. All they did was ask if she was alright like 3 times and then left.

They are not going to stay in your house or take you away at all. They just have to see a living breathing person and then they leave. I'm sure there is more they could do like maybe take someone to the hospital if there was a call placed about the safety of someone's life to make sure nothing comes of that call.

Any person would want them to go away if they planned on doing anything so they will ultimately say anything. The cops should know this. They act like just their presence is going to stop it.

Maybe I'm being too critical, but that is how I feel and what I had seen.

An update to this saga: went silent while waiting for them…

The cops didn't show, which I'm glad for. They did call back and I was put on the phone with them. Told them I was calming down but had no where to go.

I'm so fucking low rn. Thankful to be in a hotel room, but I'm not looking forward to tomorrow.

The neighbors all heard me yelling how everyday I wake up and wish I was dead.
I reached this point of just not caring anymore. Just wanting all of it to end. I even thought about trying to get one of the cops to shoot at me if they showed up.

When I get low, I seek to destroy myself in embarrassing ways. Like it's gonna get me closer to kms if I don't respect myself and other people don't respect me either.

Its violent, and has consequences whether the cop who shoots is a good or bad person.
No positive outcome in either case and it reaches their families, their station might even affect politics in a bad way coz its a domino effect.

I had a moment of desperate thinking where suicide by cop flashed by. It's wrong.
