Help company in exchange for a place to stay

if anyone here is really lonely and could use some company ,I'm a 21yo transman and i can offer that ( i can also cook) if you let me stay at your place for a while, i live in the us, I'm a bit socially awkward but I'll try my best not to be, my lease ends soon and i have no interest in rejoining the rat race, so I'm planning on ctb soon, so maybe we can do it together, if that's something someone here would want, feel free to pm me , even if you're not interested, I'd love to chat anyway

You mentioned the "rat race". There is a movie called 1,000 clowns that touches on a guy that reenters the rat race in order to be able to keep his nephew. The movie was made at a time (50s / 60s) we non-conformists were transitioning from the beatniks to the hippies.

Most who eschew the rat race live in the artistic sections of big cities and these neighborhoods are generally more accepting of those who want to live differently. Sometimes these neighborhoods will have a small newspaperthrough which you might be able to find someone like-minded.

Be careful of the dangers that arise when offering yourself in this manner to a stranger. There will be people who are eager to take advantage of you.

Also, on a more technical point... this kind of arrangement in the US could very well be considered prostitution... even without sex, the notion of companionship for a place to stay does fit the technical definition... and is something that could get both of you in trouble.

Just be mindful is all I'm saying.

I get that... I just mean... if it doesn't result in the end you want, you will feel worse. The only thing than current pain is more pain, worse pain. That's all I mean. it's one thing to throw caution to the wind and not care... it's another thing to find yourself in a worse more painful predicament and less opportunity for a way out.

I'm scared as FUCK to fail in my attempt... also scared "what if" someone tries and succeeds in interrupting me and I end up being watched and stopped from trying again. So... however bad it is now... it can get worse.

I guess that's true but my other option is to ctb before the end of this month, i guess it could just be my survival instincts that are making desperate to continue living somehow, i doubt anything will come out of this anyway

I know... I was barely clinging to hope... until this evening, when it all fell apart. I have other forces driving me towards an end within the next few weeks anyway, but as of today, I have exactly zero reason to try and stick around any longer. I'm hoping beyond hope that I get the courage to go tonight and that it works for me.

I recently learned about living in with someone elderly or disabled to assist them with living in exchange for a place to live. They don't have to be a hands on job and sometimes it's like just shopping for groceries and supplies.

I guess if you are planning to ctb soon then this isn't really an option. The offer for company and maybe cooking reminded me of this option so I wanted to put it out there just in case it's something to consider.

Woah I'm in the same situation as you. I'm willing to move out with any strangers just to get out of my toxic household to breath for a moment. I also will probably end up attempting again too so it doesn't make the most sense to want to get away if I wanna die anyways but alas...I REALLY need a piece of mind before I commit.

If you live in the us or canada there are programs like workaway and coolworks where you can work a few hours a day for someone in exchange for a room and food and sometimes even some money, you should look into that, and same, i don't wanna feel rushed to ctb
