Fast-acting benzos could still be slower than the narcotic effect of inert gases.

Would you consider using them anyway to reduce crampings and thus, reduce the risk that the exit bag get dislocated?

Could there be any downsides regarding respiratory functioning? I've heard that Exit Bag is not a suitable method for patients with COPD/Asthma. Could Benzos have a similar effect?

I think for the Inert Gas method, benzos would really only help in relaxing you to go through with the method. Providing you pull off the method correctly, you shouldn't panic breathing in the Nitrogen/Helium/Argon regardless of whether you have taken a benzo or not. But I imagine benzos won't help make up for any mistakes you make with the method, chances are if you feel like you're out of breath, you'd still panic even after taking a benzo.
