It's more complicated than how much is enough, because it depends on the space you're in, and how sealed off that space is, and the quality of the coal. This is something you want to study carefully, there's a large thread somewhere.
It likely won't be enough - I tried similar in a smaller space and it failed. Depends on how air tight you can make it. I plan on trying this again in a tent, which I have also attempted before. I woke with a splitting headache and eye pain for a day after
