I'm planning to do a partial hanging, and just in case it takes a long and painful time, I'll be taking Alprazolam to relieve anxiety, and if the dose is high enough it can make me unconscious. However, how many doses does it take to become unconscious? Is this method reliable?

I used chloroform a few years back during some major drug binges. Not to CTB but to get high.
Don't use it in a cry for help or attention seeking attempt. This stuff gives you horrendous headaches and stomach pains once it wears off. The comedown was one of the worst in my life.

You can make your own chloroform from recipes freely found on the Internet. The issue is procuring the necessary chemicals to make it. I think it's fairly simple to make it, though.

I anesthetized some rats in university using chloroform and from what I saw it is not good to stopping vital functions, only for anesthesia. Even after the animals fall asleep, and even with a lot of chloroform in their noses, their hearts didn't stop, they didn't die. The narcotic effect is very strong, but it not the same for the entire central nervous system.

Thank you for your answer, Shinji.
I use it just so I don't feel anything while partially hanging, you know, sometimes you don't lose consciousness right away and the SI kicks in.

A 33-year-old man who had suffered from phobia and depressions was found dead in his kitchen. He was entirely covered by plastic waste disposal bags stuck together. The corpse was lying flat on his stomach with his face on a towel soaked with chloroform. Within the plastic cover, on either side...
I posted this elsewhere and not as detailed, but as this is a "Method" thread I think it's worth repeating here. My attempt wasn't the best planned but here's what I learned:
My plan was actually to suffocate with an airtight mask on. The chloroform was just supposed to knock me out to control SI. I rigged the mask in such a way as to not allow breathing. I then stuffed it with a chloroform-soaked rag and secured it to my face. I passed out for some amount of time (I don't think it was long) and came to vomiting on the floor, mask already removed.
I hadn't had anything to eat for 18 hours and I'm wondering if that had anything to do with it. I wonder if eating something beforehand or taking an antiemetic would have prevented this and I'm pretty sure that's why I woke up.
Get used to the feeling of chloroform. I practiced a few times/week for three weeks leading up to my attempt. I would just huff a chloroform rag to get used to the dizziness, how long it took to kick in, the smell and taste (you get a funky chemical taste in your mouth), and just the overall feeling.
I think using chloroform as a sedative to prevent SI while using another method is a viable option so long as the other method is quick to also induce unconsciousness.
As my method was a little slower, having a steady supply of chloroform would have been helpful to keep me under. I should have rigged up a drip system to slowly feed chloroform into the mask.
Chloroform is extremely basic. Be careful you do not get chemical burns. Also, it will pass through plastic so always store it in a glass container. away from light!
That's what I learned from my attempt. I would try again with this but unfortunately the smell now makes me immediately nauseous so I have to find something else.
