My guess is it was causing technical issues for a unknown reason (maybe even used to attack the site?) for a while now and so far attempts to fix it sadly didnt work. So for now its disabled again.
But thats just a guess into the blue with no facts behind it, so pretty much a campfire ghost story. Its probably maintenance time.
