You can be happy but statements like that are why this site gets such a bad rep. "Well done"? Sounds fairly encouraging to me. And that is what adds fuel to the fire for those that want to shut this site down. But by all means keep encouraging people if that's what you want.

I agree with this.

I'm "happy" that successful CTBs have escaped the pain and bullshit that is this life. But I'm not happy that they had to do it in the first place, I'm not happy they're dead, I'm not happy their loved ones will now be in pain...

Lol sorry I didnt meant to say that. To do CTB requires so much brave and he did it thats why I said that, is not easy. But think what you want, your energy is worst than mine

OP was conflicted, had arranged to go to rehab, then CTB instead. Two years is too short of a time-frame to expect to be fully recovered from death of a spouse, especially if you're drinking. And things you decide to do while under the influence often are impulsive and do not represent your true wishes. Everything about this is sad, especially if they could have been helped. Help is possible for some people.

I hope this person is at peace now or that they changed their mind and got help.
