Some of you may be familiar with this story in Plainville MA where the gf texted her bf telling him to commit suicide. He did so by carbon monoxide in his truck in a Kmart parking lot. Assuming he used exhaust fumes, I want to know how this is possible out in the open? Do you just block off the tailpipe?

I'm not familiar with that story, but I think in order to do that, you have to run a hose out of the muffler and into the cab.

Unless it was an older truck with a bad exhaust leak definitely have to run something from exhaust to cab

Yes, and with an exhaust leak, I would think you would have to be in an enclosed area, like a garage... otherwise the exhaust would "air out" and not cause the desired effect.

Not if it was right under the cab. If he cracked his exhaust and had his windows rolled up there's a good chance he could die. It just depends

You know, I have read of people dying during power outages by not having their gas-powered generator vented properly -- like in the garage instead of outside and away from open windows.

I once tested duct taping a rubber tube from my exhaust pipe, then running the tube to the interior of my vehicle through the back sliding window of my pickup truck. The cabin filled up rather quickly.

Thanks for letting me know. He just ran the generator inside his truck?

You can't get carbon monoxide from any car or truck with a catalytic converter. So any car from the early to mid 70s on emit basically water🌹💔

If that's true why the push for electric cars? I thought it was because of carbon emissions.
