Hello,

New here but been reading for a while.

Carbon monoxide is my chosen method.

Tried other methods previously and failed.

One OD was very close but was found.

Would 4 party size disposable bbqs be enough for a small bathroom if i close the window and try to seal the door?

Ive read so many threads where some have success with less but some seem to fail with more.

I really need this time to work, if i decide to go ahead.

If im found or fail, its going to make life so much worse than it already is.

This needs to work.

I dont plan on taking anything, just alcohol to help me be calm.

I plan on lighting them outside until the flames stop and then move them into the bath tub in their trays, will the bath withstand the heat?

I wanted to do this in a small bedroom so i could lay on the bed while i wait. But the bathroom is smaller and likely more effective.

Id also be worried about the bbqs causing damage to the house when im gone so the bath seemed the safest place to put them.

I will leave notes on internal entry doors to the property warning of gas when people ultimately arrive to make sure nobody is harmed.

Anything i need to add or have missed?

My concern would be smoke escaping and setting off a fire alarm- it may not be that easy to get a room to be airtight. It can work- I found some examples where it worked in a car, and you may be able to seal off the room. Brain damage if it doesn't work seems like a higher risk with this method than with most other methods.

I have disconnected the smoke detectors. Ive removed the carbon monoxide detector too. Its a detached property so no concerns around that.

I think there would be less smoke than expected as you wait until the flames have gone before moving into the location. Thats my understanding of it anyway from reading threads here.

The bathroom has a small window which i could tape off with a bag. I could tape the door and air vent off too. Do you think this would be enough with 4 large disposables?

Im concerned it could damage the bath. I presume it would manage the heat? Would i need something under them to prevent fire or damage to the property?

I co-own the property so i dont want any damage left behind.

I have a car which i could use, but worried the heat would damage the vehicle and result in debt passed on to spouse (separated) as the vehicle is financed.

Also wonder how air tight a car really is, as it has vents all over, seems more challenging to make air tight than a small bathroom.

Choosing the car as the location would also increase liklihood of being caught which i really dont want.

I just want to leave in a way that leaves as little damage as possible to those left behind and with no chance of being interrupted.

I'm glad you're being as considerate of others as possible. I think just some foil pans could keep the charcoal from damaging the tub. A car is definitely feasible to get airtight enough if you just close off the vents, there are high profile cases of this in a car such as a lady from california who killed herself and her three children (8,7, and 3) in a rental car with a charcoal grill -this is on youtube. Another person posted in a comment on this video and said they tried this in a car and after 30 minutes of it burning their eyes, throat, and lungs they left the car- they said their mistake was lighting the charcoal while it was in the car.

The charcoal is in prepackaged foil trays as they are disposable bbqs. They are 'party size' bbqs so larger than standard too.

Hoping this will be enough as i have read cases, as the one you mentioned, where people have had success with just one bbq.

Previous attempts with alternative methods have been very impulsive decisions but this one is being planned and thought through very carefully.

Ive lost everything that meant anything to me and my ex is spreading some very toxic lies about me. Hes left me in debt and unable to pay all bills or legal costs linked to our situation, so i dont know how much longer i can go on.
