Carbon Monoxide Tent Buying Guide

What kind of tent do you need for a stressful Co escape? I'm looking on amazon and I see a wide range. I like this cheep $34 unit. https://www.amazon.com/CAMEL-CROWN-...Person/dp/B08RJ92BGM/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=tent

It's water proof and can fit 2 people. Bonus points it has a camel on it. If I'm going out I might as well do it in style :P. Anyway What are some things to consider. I'm guessing water proof is a must, but what about size? Is 2 big enough.

Also I'm planing on doing this in my back yard. I guess I could find a free camp site too. How far should I be from the house? I watched some videos on YouTube about family dying from Co and I'd like to avoid that.

The vent on the top is a problem, or at least will take extra effort to seal properly. Whatever you buy, make sure the bottom or ground sheet is attached. Find one with as few vents and windows as possible. I know it will cost more to do, but what I plan on doing is sealing the entire tent with, well, some kind if sealant. Obviously, for a tent you'll need quite a bit, so something in a gallon size would be best. I'm thinking of using a sealant they use to seal rain gutters. It can be rolled on with a roller. I'm sure there are other materials that can work. I'll probably throw a tarp over the tent too for good measure. It might be a little overkill, but that's the plan. Honestly, I think pretty much any tent will work, or can be made to work. Certainly doesn't have to be a Regatta Malawi although that's a good quality tent no doubt.

Tape any seams. Don't get any tent with windows, if there's a big air vent at the top just tape over it. Use HVAC tape. You could always use extra charcoal if you're worried about any deficiencies beyond that. Extra charcoal will make up the difference. 15 lb for a tiny tent will be completely effective.
