Can you hear me, Major Tom?

Found out about two weeks ago that my dad has cancer. I was just starting to reconnect with him after like 7 years apart. We were really making up for lost time and I'm just. So fucking mad. It's so unfair. I didn't speak to him for so long because my mother put so much shit in my head as a kid. I feel awful. And now...

I don't want to bury my dad.

What kind of cancer? And how advanced is it? Not all cancer is a death sentence. I have a rare form of leukemia (blood cancer), but it can be controlled, with medication and a certain amount of hassle. If I don't ctb, old age would probably kill me first.

Sarcoma. Still waiting to hear on the stage from the oncologist but it doesn't look good. They found it in multiple places. His mom, my grandma, also had cancer - though another form - and passed from it. Kinda gives me a bad outlook on it altogether.

If it's in multiple places, I agree that it doesn't look good. Just done a quick readup on sarcomas, and he may have only a year or two left (though everyone's case is different, and his doctor will be able to give a more reliable estimate).

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I guess all you can do now is spend as much time with your father in his remaining months or years as you can.

I'm so sorry your dad has cancer, it's horrible dealing with a parent with cancer. I lost my mother to it when I was 13. Lung cancer, already in multiple places.

I hope your dad has longer to live than my mother did and that you get to spend a lot of meaningful time with him.

My boyfriend's mother had cancer and she lived for another 7 years so you never know.
