• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Some people do read the megathreads and end up making a post asking anyways and taking suggestions and recommendation from people
I don't see anything wrong with that some users are scared, some wants to take others opinion maybe they tried that method and wanna know what the other users have experienced
If users are that scared, they shouldn't be getting told how to kill themselves step by step by other users. Simple really. Otherwise, they're just opening themselves up to regret.
No one here is encouraging, forcing, or inviting anyone to make an attempt.
People are though. If that wasn't a problem OP wouldn't have made this thread. I've seen people tell others that they are "free to take as many low doses of sn as they want". That's encouraging someone.

If users are that scared
Majority of the people here are scared of ctb but they are still willing to do it anyways

I didn't say member should give a step by step instructions on how to do it
reading the megathread will easily give you that I'm talking about suggestions and recommendation and questions what do other users went through a certain method how did it go what worked and what didn't that's what I'm saying

People asking survivors of attempts questions? That's a whole other issue.

Something like that not to directly ask a step by step instructions cause those are already included in resources

As a community, we should report these types of harmful suggestions.

As I've always said, ctb methods aren't a game. One mistake can cost you dearly and leave you in a worse situation. That's why accurate information and prior research are so important.
(That's precisely why we debate, share information -when asked-, and investigate/research)

Except... by that logic... all those methods and guides are in violation of the rules. The argument that we can't say those things because the information is already on the site means the site itself violates the rules.

Also... not for nothing, but... this site doesn't allow new users to use the search feature. So new users come here all the time and literally can't find the existing information and have no choice but to ask questions. And if you or I answer them, what's the difference between posting the information VS pointing them to the information already on the site? Either case, strictly speaking, provides "encouragement" if that's where the line is drawn.
Taken the words right out of my mouth.

Those megathreads and comments within give way more encouragement than anything else on this site.

I get the gist.
Unfortunately it's tough. And I do blame our society for this one. Because getting close to the core it still comes out as a matter of choice about people's bodies.
I don't think people should be constrained from doing ctb, in the open. That doesn't mean I encourage people to do it, I don't. However, I will respect a person's choice to do it and hope they find some peace. I won't go around saying "oh yeah you should definitely do it come on coward!", it's not what I would do normally nor do I intend to do it.
Trolls do that, people who couldn't care less and hate others just because would. But I think there ultimately should be a change (in the world) because holy fuck this world can be a nightmare for some. Be it diseases, disability or whatever other issue plagues people.
And then the age old issue of having to hide, finding particular places, etc. where could people go? Why don't people fight for this right? It shouldn't really be anybody's business what I ultimately do with my body. Sometimes it's like hearing Christians talk about abortion or whatever other denomination talk about homosexuality.
This is the real abomination right here. I think that as long as you don't want to just commit a mass thing, people should find some dignity and official channels.

But until then, I will not tell others to ctb because they must/have to, but I'm not going to stop thinking that these people ought to find peace, like anybody else should if they truly think this is it for them.
So who can fight the actual fight? Who can confidently go forward and fight this uphill battle to confront the rest of the people who, quite frankly, do not really care?

I won't. I don't have it in me, not anymore. So where do we go?
Some people are desperate, genuinely desperate, and others are convinced in their aims. It's what happens when we live as humans.
So I can't say. The rules say you can't really say certain stuff, and because of obvious reasons, it's best to stick with them. But I think the actual sentiment matters too.

May I ask why is it an issue?
This thread is worth looking at. Explains why it can be an issue. People can ask questions, but sometimes the way people word things can be harmful.

Honestly, this thread was started by a moderator without providing any official direction on what is and is not acceptable beyond "blurred lines." I feel like either the mods and site owners/operators should make a post clarifying what is and is not acceptable OR the topic becomes mute, because as others have posted, there are a lot of official posts by the site made as sticky or referred to that contain much more information that "encourages" people to suicide than the examples given in this thread posted by other users.

It's either all okay or none of it is okay. They need to provide guidance and updated rules if changes are being made and I would expect the forum to be scrubbed of any offending content as well. Otherwise this is just another thread where we are all giving our opinions and nothing is any different than any other conversation.
