  • Hey Guest,

    Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

    This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

    In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

An autopsy is scarier than CTB itself. The thought alone is off putting and embarrassing, as I'm very self conscious and hate to show myself naked lol.
Can a person while alive write up a Will that asks for 'no looking'?

@miserableforever You can put a "No Autopsy" request in your will, but an autopsy request by law enforcement will override your wishes (here in usa).

PS - Do a google search for your city looking for an "Autopsy Objection Form". Fill this out and keep it with your will and other legal paperwork. Looks like you can object due to religious reasons.

The dead have no rights, and no say. I wouldn't expect people to listen to me when I'm a corpse, since they already have trouble listening to me while I'm alive and in their faces.

No unfortunately not. They will automatically do an autopsy for any death that isn't a natural death. They need to determine the exact cause of death.

I understand how you feel. I feel the same. The idea of having strangers undress me and invade my privacy like that really upsets me. I just try to remind myself that it doesn't really matter since I won't be here anymore and won't know that it even happened.

I feel you, hopefully the coroner won't, hehe. All joking aside I find this thought also disturbing. I've gained so much weight and also stopped shaving (I'm a hairy guy, chest, legs, even back). I can't stand to look at myself yet alone some stranger to examine me. Maybe I'll make a note - death from Nembutal, perhaps that will be enough to avoid autopsy.

No body found equals no autopsy. I watch cave diving videos and sometimes bodies can't be retrieved leaving out autopsies.

I'm copying and pasting this from this site here ( https://www.cga.ct.gov/PS98/rpt\olr\htm/98-R-1090.htm ) but the short answer is yes. Generally in the US and I assume in most places though maybe I'm wrong a medical examiner is usually obligated to perform an autopsy under any of these circumstances:

1. violent deaths, whether homicide, suicide, or by accident;

2. sudden or unexpected deaths not caused by readily recognizable disease;

3. deaths under suspicious circumstances;

4. deaths where the body will be cremated , buried at sea, or otherwise unavailable;

5. deaths from employment-related disease or accident; and

6. deaths from diseases that could cause a public health threat (CGS § 19a-406).

You need a body to autopsy. Divers do get lost in caves and never found. At certain depths, it's not responsible for a diver to retrieve the deceased.

That's fair. Are you going to go diving in a cave?

I dont think op was talking about diving. I'd rather have an autopsy anyday over drowning in a cave

Why is drowning so feared? It's 6 minutes before death.

Just being under water in a swimming pool with the need to come up for air sucks. I cant imagine being trapped in a cave. But to each their own.

I'm not sure if the coroner's investigation always rises to that of a full autopsy or not. That may depend on what they suspect happened to you, like if they suspect you overdosed or something. They may only need to do a toxicology screening. But, as others have said, you have no say-so once your dead as to how an investigation needs to be conducted, at that includes whether an autopsy is ordered.

They can't perform an autopsy if they can't find your body.

Step 1 - acquire boat, chains, 60lbs weight plate, locks, lots of gas, gun (if American, Canadian, or from other gun friendly places).

Step 2 - anchor up and set course in any literal direction on the open sea.

Step 3 - Continue boating until you either run out of your stock of gas or the tides get too wild.

Step 4 - chain and lock yourself to the weight, hang it and yourself over the edge.

Step 5 - put 30 rounds into the boat and one in yourself, die, fall off boat, sink to the bottom.

Step 6 - end up on a national geographic documentary in 2089 once the oceans dry up.

You'll be dead. It won't matter. Either way the body has to be taken care of so they will have to handle it. Won't matter cause 'you'wont be there

So what do you tell jumpers who become paralyzed? I'm sure you have a minimal height needed.
I'd tell them to do research. People who pick freeway overpasses and the roof of their house are fools.
