I noticed that when I listen to something loud (noise or music) my pain threshold rises. I feel less pain. Now I'm thinking that if I were to use painful method I might put my headphones on, turn the music up as loud as possible and blast something noisy.
What do you think?

For me it doesn't ease pain, in fact, it is irrelevant as I'd still be fully aware of what is going on (from having too much self-awareness).
