When I got a concussion, I slept through the night before going to the ER. They told me it was fine — the needing to stay awake thing is a myth that was perpetuated by TV and movies. I think it may have been an old protocol that was revised. However, if you have a worse head injury it might be a problem? I'm not sure. Not a medical professional.
There are ways of getting financial assistance from hospitals btw! I don't totally know how this works but there are resources online. This year I was able to get 20% off my bill just because I called and double checked that the amount I was billed was correct, because it seemed much higher than it should have been. They didn't even check anything about my finances.
Best of luck. Also, I like your icon.
