• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

admins can only delete 10 posts or so... idk if it is 10 posts per day/week or 10 posts for all time.

after I think 4 (or maybe now 6) hours, posts are finalised... they are already indexed by Google before then... so maybe it is the site's way of saying "the post is archived by google anyway, not only will it break threads, but it is futile to delete"

mods don't mass delete posts, it's somewhere in the rules I think

can they delete my account and then I come back with a new one?
I think that can happen, tho still, search engines will archive it for months or so... they still kept the "Aera23 ^u^" and "Friends with Aera23" taglines, even tho I long changed it (but they don't archive forever)

But still, going forward, I try to be careful about what I post, and even if I'm hiring someone, I wouldn't be too concerned they were here (I am here)

I assume anything I post on the Internet is... you know... on the Internet. Some sites claim to let you delete everything, but it might be cached somewhere anyway even if that site deleted it. And while you can delete a relatively new post, once it has been there a while and others have discussed around it, the message can really get confused if they let you delete.

When I used to be on Facebook... I had someone one time go on a rant on my page and posted a bunch of vile stuff cursing out other friends of mine. This all happened while I was asleep... my friends argued back... but then the ranter deleted all his posts so it looked like my other friends snapped on him randomly. I woke up the next day to all that mess. I had friends who had screen captures before he deleted so I was able to feel comfortable blocking the ranter and cleaning up so my other friends didn't look insane.

This is a tactic by some trolls, to post stuff, wait for replies, then delete their posts so other people look creepy. Not saying this is you... I'm just saying that's another reason sites don't want to just mass delete posts by someone that aren't otherwise offensive. Also, if they do it for you, then they have to do it for everyone, and who knows how many people join and then cancel this site every week... they might find themselves doing nothing but pruning posts.
