Hey,

So I searched through the forums for potential OTC medications in the UK that are anti-emetics, and 'Buccastem-m' came up as a potential option. However, it says that although it is OTC they still need to ask you questions when you're purchasing the drug. Does anyone know what this might be? I wouldn't have a valid reason for owning this drug and so I can't give a legitimate excuse. What could I blabber on about for them to think it's okay to give me the drug?

If anyone has had experience purchasing this then help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

To ask questions when buying OTC medication? Now I can truly say I have seen everything in my life...
Well, you can tell a bit about migraines. Say you are experiencing migraines and there are occasions when you vomit non-stop. You can say that Sumatriptan does not guarantee you won't have nausea and that you often don't eat several days in a row. You can even think out that you were prescribed Metoclopramide and Benadryl before but Buccastem works better for you.

Haha, sorry, I can just get quite nervous so I was worried there might be the possibility that they could refuse me or something. Thanks for the help!

Honestly, if it is OTC medication, it should be sold without any odd questions. Nobody is asking why you are buying paracetamol or lozenges against sore throat. And in this case they should not ask as well.

Yeh, that makes sense. It's just on my local pharmacies website it gave a warning saying something along the lines of "Only use if you have been diagnosed with migraines by a professional doctor", and so I wasn't sure if that meant they would ask extra questions etc... But it seems like it should be easy enough!

Ye, knowing about medication you "used before" and "years of migraines" should be enough. You can also select the peak time when there are queues - they won't let the others wait while questioning you.

Hopefully it'll work! Thanks a lot again for all the help.
