Never one… Without the other

I have a piece of Bumblebee Jasper. The internet has informed me that it contains Arsenic and Sulfur, both rather toxic.
Most sites recommend washing your hands after handling it, and never submerging in water. I want to know why. Could it be lethal? Would it at worst just make me sick?
I love the idea of carrying around this beautiful stone, which could potentially harm me. I want to know the power it truly possesses, so if anyone knows anything about gemstones and poisons, please let me know, at the very least i'll learn about this pretty little rock I adore.
(If you're curious, yes this stone is why my name is Jasper on this site)
