Some dude jumped off a bridge not far from where I live, onto a main road, can't be more then 50ft, Life changing injuries.
Damn he's screwed, esp as the mental health service here is non exisitent, unless you want a cuppa tea
actually this isn't even 50ft?

on a dark humor side, does anyone wonder what your first thoughts would be if you survived that?
Mine would prob be *Well that didn't go to plan!*

That couldn't have been a serious suicide attempt. Probably was making a tiktok video or something on a dare.

You'd be surprised. People get desperate. If it caused serious injury then imo it was a serious attempt

Not necessarily. There are tons of videos of people doing stupid stuff and getting seriously injured.

Trying to jump into water and trying to jump off a bridge are very different things. 99.999999% of people don't jump off bridges for fun

Portadown Hill Road over the A3M in Portsmouth is probably about 90ft. Plenty enough to be fatal.

I think my balcony is higher on the 5th floor. It looks super low. Too bad his skull wasn't run over by a massive truck... Instant mercy...

*Shrieks* he should have jumped head first?

Maybe trying to get splattered by a semi. Also not everyone in the world has the expertise we see here, on the forum.

Damn, the prospect of suriving a jump from a bridge is scary, the risk of ending up in a wheelchair is pretty significant. I would be very picky with what bridge I would choose for something like that. Maybe the Golden Gate Bridge, but on the other hand it is very well traficked at all times I think, and there are going to be alot of people there keeping their eyes open for anyone looking like he/she's about to jump.

I met a homeless guy who did something like that - jumped 30 feet off an on overpass - probably thought he would get run over. He survived uninjured. Seems painful and unreliable. But some people are utterly desperate.

This method is very risky, if you didn't die, it will only make your life worse, and it will be difficult to have a second chance.

Oh, noone can do something like that. It must have been I don't know but you are here. Maybe relying on other methods is better. Now the person is in worse situation after this it didn't help them.

Jumping sounds like a terrifying method to me and it's beyond horrible how suicide methods can fail. I would never have the courage for jumping anyway but even if I did I would only jump from somewhere that is extremely high.
