There are so many replies in this thread, I can't read them all.
But it makes me think of how from birth, one of the most important questions is: is it a boy or girl. There are parents who try really hard to raise their child gender neutral, until the child is ready to decide, but can that child take on the world? It seems a lot of people here are trans, non-binary, intersex. If someone is trans or intersex, and identifies with a particular gender, I accept their gender identification, and they don't have to explain, unless they want to. Non-binary people don't have to make a binary choice, and that's the point.
I was born with XX chromosomes and identify as female, but often I feel that's boring. I can't vote in this thread, but I felt like I needed to say something. I purposely tried to choose a gender neutral avatar, to show support to others.
