Before the chat was unlocked, it was still possible to send messages, but I didn't know why because I couldn't see any notifications. People replied, and I only found out about it a few weeks later, so I was unsure if I should continue the conversation, haha.

the chat sucks balls because there is only a notification for the beginning of the convo; you have to check manually thereafter. "private conversation" is way way more useful
