I'm sure there's some obvious reason why and I am as usual just too dumb to realize it

I mean that is probably the fastest thing to do so you start the reply cooldown as early as possible. At this point in playing this I don't care about playing as quick as possible so I am not try harding as much

I actually do it in the same way... my thinking was that a reaction is faster than a reply. If you react first and then reply, especially as I do now with text, the previous poster may come back to the thread before a reply is there. It means they have to reload the page or hope for the "new posts, wanna load them?" message, thus slowing your team down. Replying first and then reacting doesn't have that issue and the previous poster can reply right away.
