It's really simple and it doesn't require creativity, which could be bad, but it allows people who are shy/introvert or with social anxiety to play it, even if they don't talk too much until they feel comfortable. The theme "boys vs girls" is really silly but it allows for the creation of teams and uncontroversial banter and rivalry. It can help some people to feel part of a social group and to feel like they are being listened. And you can add anything to your number, even if it doesn't feel "important" enough to post a thread or tell someone, and people will read it.
