My manager really thinks I should seek help, but that would get in the way of my plans to CTB.

We have a counselling service partnered with our company, almost like a union thing. I don't want to speak to them, if I do I don't want to put the effort in.

Am I being stubborn/unreasonable?

For my mental health because I feel like shit, I'm having sleep issues and [I haven't told him this but] I'm crying on shift

Do you have a ctb plan already? A set date? If not, then you should try talking to them. It'll make your work environment better, since you'll appear to be trying to improve. Just don't say anything specific to them, and under no circumstances mention suicide as an option.

I know what I want to do and I have an estimate time frame (would like to between Feb and May 2019) but knowing me I won't go through with it because I'm weak. I'd never mention suicide to them.

So long as you don't, and you can deflect any direct questions, they shouldn't be much interference to later plans to ctb. I'd worry about the psych visit going on my employment record, though. That might cause trouble later, if you decide not to ctb.

On the other hand, it might prove useful. I've heard sometimes a councellor/therapist can be worthwhile. Maybe even make not ctb a better option.

Difficult decision.
