  • Hello Guest,

Another update, OFCOM has reached out directly. We have made the decision to make all content unavailable in the UK for the time being. People from the UK will still be allowed to register, but content that violates the Online Safety Bill will not be viewable to the public. This officially puts us in compliance with the Onlien Safety Bill.

We would highly recommend that all users from the UK get some sort of VPN, and you should petition your lawmakers to let them know how you feel about this piece of draconian legislation.

What are your opinions on birthdays?

Personally, I hate my own birthday. It's a reminder that I've failed at dying for another year.
Also, my last few birthdays have been horrible. I now associate my birthday with bad luck and bad news. My last birthday ended up with me receiving news that one of my friends had died of a seizure...

Hate 'em as well. I've been suicidal for a while but for the last 3 years every time my birthday comes up I can't stop thinking "oh shit... I wasn't supposed to be here !"

There's also the added benefit of having the family gather around and look back at all the things I have (not) accomplished.
Here's to hoping my last one really was my last one !

I loathe my birthdays. Never liked them much as a kid, aside from the gifts I got, and the "special day" only got worse with time.

Also, the older you, get less desirable birthdays seem to be. At least that is my case.
As a kid, I used to like them. There was always that excitement of "getting older and growing up".

I don't care for them, I don't really celebrate them anymore, just an extra depressing day where I disgust myself with how old I'm getting and how worthless and pathetic my existence has been so far.

That said, though, I have always been attracted to the idea of ctb on my birthday, something about having the same death date as birth date, like an extra staple that this was my choice and by my hand.

Remember the day you brought me into the world? I thought it was a good day to leave it.

That interests me as well. Instead of Happy birthday, it would be my "Happy Deathday"

Try to ignore it as much as I can but I have kids who don't live with me but don't let me forget how old I am.. (old... lol )....
To be honest, my 'hatred' for my birthday pales in comparison to how much I HATE Christmas... but that's a whole nother post..
I do think that the older you get, the less interested you are...

Yup, Christmas sucks a bag a dicks. As do birthdays.

I'm only lucky I was able to spend most of my last birthday at a mate's place, where I'm not being bombarded with birthday calls from relatives who don't suspect a thing about my intentions.

Unfortunately, I'll still have to bear another birthday at least, before I can check out.

Even as a child? Interesting

Yes, because it never was a big deal, and the occurrence quite formal. Both parents and teachers used to blabber something about the passing of time. "See, you're growing up and soon you'll be [insert random quote about being a responsible adult at age 8]".

Also the "presents" I used to receive were either 2 cent birthday cards with pre-printed quotes or something useless along that line. I've got 3 of those cards, then I asked them to stop because those weren't birthdays, rather mindless mockery.

I also dislike birthdays. Only two of the people to whom I still speak seem to know my birthday.

My birthday luck has been very poor, such as getting laid off. It mostly seems to be a reminder that I am not special as compared to anyone else.

I never understood why are people so fond of celebrating the day when they came in this shitty world.
I stopped celebrating a long time ago, that's how much I care.

When I was 17 my Grandma had gone into the hospital with a clot and ended up having her leg removed. She was in there for quite a while and by sheer coincidence got out on my birthday. She was happy to Ben out and my mom, her, and I celebrated with a little cake. As I was blowing out the candles her face sagged and her speech slurred. She then had a massive stroke which would be the catalyst to her giving up on life and dying 2 years later.
