  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I want to ctb soon(this year) and I got like 2 Family members who care the most and I promised them that I say goodbye. One of them is oke with that and that she can accept it. But my mother wants me to still test stuff that may help. Which goes on and on. I just dont want anymore. How can I tell her that this is the end of trying and how do I say goodbye to her and say no to all the treatments etc. ?

In my case, I believe that a note could give closure to those left behind and could tell them, there is nothing you could have done and now I am at peace. Whatever happens, I wish you the best.

Let her know you recognize the efforts she made and that it just didn't work. You might love her for the time she gave you. But you had to go.

maybe in addition to a note you can leave a video on a flash drive telling her how much you love her. she will able to watch it over and over again when she misses you

To preface this: I really encourage you to try all the options that you can before resorting to CTB

I made the mistake of messaging people during my attempt, not a great idea it really distressed those I messaged and I feel very bad for probably giving them trauma. Also the more you signal to people that "this is the end of trying" they pretty easily sus out your intentions and get concerned about you. Maybe not the worst thing for some people but yeah. I've realized If I try again I should just write a time delay message to send out a while after. Anyway what exactly are your intentions in telling people you're done trying? There's not really anything you can say beforehand that's gonna give them easier closure or less of hard time. If you want to reach out to people around you about your thoughts/pain I'd say do it without CTB in mind if that possible.

The best way to say goodbye would be euthanasia. For me, it's the most important thing that makes it different from a CTB I manage. Unfortunately I have to do it myself and I'll say goodbye with a stupid suicide note.
