What type of benzodiazepines are you planning to take?

Also, just because Benadryl has sedative properties, you'd need to consume an immense dose to just contribute to death. I don't think this is necessary for this type of exit plan.

I've read that Benadryl ODs are horrific. Some people use it to get high and have reported things like seeing spiders coming out of the wall and getting violently I'll. Just an FYI.

I've taken close to 1.5 to 2.5 grams of Benadryl a day for several months and was absolutely the worst fears manifesting from the psychosis like an asteroid hitting the planet. I imagine either toxic slow build overdose or 3 grams at once. No fucking way. I just flushed the remaining pills two nights ago and I've been having anxiety and tremors real bad and I've no real appetite to eat... Tinnitus is particularly loud today. Avoid Benadryl. Find something more effective, not proclaiming I know what is suitable to me can differ from your experience, but take the friendly notion to keep your options open if you intend something other than a nightmare hurricane generator for the mind.

I've also overdosed on an antihistamine and alcohol before. I rank it up there with my caffeine overdose as the most unpleasant experience of my life. I highly advise against overdosing on any kind of antihistamines. Go find yourself an opioid that isn't combined with a pain killer then you may finally have a decent chance.

I take 2 pills of Benadryl for my allergies. If I remember correctly, the maximum recommended amount is 6 pills within 24 hours for adults.

I think it's worth clarifying in this thread which Benadryl we are talking about because the active ingredient of this brand varies among countries.

Sometimes it's diphenhydramine, sometimes promethazine, sometimes acrivastine, cetirizine or even guaifenasin. And all of those are available as other brands, and also unbranded.

So it's not helpful really, unless we know which national variant the OP and others are meaning.

I've only checked up on some of them, but they're all antihistamines correct? Wouldn't that mean they'd share some effects with each other despite their other chemical differences?

They're nearly all antihistamines, yes, but while they probably share some effects, something as specific as hallucinating spiders for example really warrants knowing what the actual chemical is, rather than just a global umbrella brand- for information to keep others safe

My Benadryl is diphenhydramine. While struggling with insomnia, when the cheap wine wasn't putting me to sleep, I would take about four caplets, midday, then six at night. For several days straight. Messed up my vision and I had auditory hallucinations. I'd be trying to go to sleep and keep hearing Irish music playing in my kitchen. I don't listen to Irish music.
I'd be hanging laundry on my line outside, and I'd hear union songs, over and over. Horrible. I love union songs, but not "Which Side Are You On?" over and over.

Ok. I think the diphenhydramine variant only applies to North America and not most of the world, but that definitely seems to be consistent with the other examples of horrific hallucinations.

I agree with @Shadowlord900. I would not include any antihistamine, included in an overdose. Sure, they might make you drowsy, but you don't want to overdo them. Otherwise, "Welcome to Hell! We have your table ready, Sir! Bwahahah!"

If you've ever taken DMT, the hallucinations are similar, though I never took enough Benadryl to get the visuals. The auditories were bad enough.

I once stopped eating for about 10 days after a bout with Chronic Pancreatitis, which involves severe pain, vomiting and nausea. I swore to my husband that I'd seen our cat sitting on our dresser, with human hands. She was wearing a top-hat, while licking her hands and speaking to me in a human voice. That's what DMT is like, and it's similar to a Benadryl OD. I just didn't get that far with Benadryl, because, once I recognized that my vision was messed up, I stopped taking it.

The worst part is watching your mind create a real time hallucination of Shadow people....OMG you can't tell it's a drug at that point. Nightmare factory for sure.

I have lived quite recklessly and can tell you benzos and alcohol won't do it. You would need to take vast quantities of each and not pass out before you finished ingesting them, you would then need to keep from throwing the lot up.
