• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

Where is your home country? So it's safe to say that PPEH is either out of date or too optimistic when trying to obtain N. in South America? PPEH makes it sound like you can just enter in a pharmacy/vet store and buy N. off the shelves
Watch this if you have'nt yet.In this video Dr Nitschke mentioned Venezuela and Equador as sources for N.

I am from Europe.

It depends which edition of PPH you read. Obviously last year it was much easier still. And I can't talk about South America as a whole. I've just been to Peru.

Ok guys. Here is my report on Lima as promised.

I stayed in a hotel in Miraflores about 10min away from Kennedy Park.
First I tried two pet clinics directly in Miraflores. The staff in the first clinic told me that they won't sell H to private people and sent me away. The vet in the second clinic was very helpful. She looked under the counter and told me she currently hasn't got any in stock. She rang up two of her suppliers but was not able to order at that moment. Then she gave me the address of ConVet at Avenue Circunvalación and told me to go there as she would always buy it there. I thanked her and left.

Then I went to the National Stadium. You don't even have to take a taxi. The bus line 301 starting at Kennedy Park will take you there for 1.5 soles.

I went to ConVet, AgroSuni and that small shop mentioned by the PPH. None of them would give me the H without a prescription.
But I thought "no problem, the vet in Miraflores was so helpful, she will probably hand out a prescription" and planned to go there the other day.

This was day 1.

On the second day I headed straight for the pet clinic I was the day before.
But to my surprise a different vet showed up and asked me what I wanted. She didn't speak English very well like her colleague but I told her what I needed. As soon as I said Halatal her facial expression changed from friendly to angry and she asked me what I would need it for. I told her I would need it for a horse. But she knew I was lying. She said she couldn't help me and sent me away.
I felt miserably and left the clinic not knowing what to do next.
The same day I tried several clinics and veterinarians in Miraflores and Surquillo. All wanted that damn prescription.

So day 2 was a failure, too.

It makes me wonder if they are just carrying too much weight knowing what people do with the N. I'm sorry to hear that your trip was not as expected.

And then came my lucky day no 3.

I decided that I had to look in the outskirts of Lima, further away from the center. I went to Chorrillos.
This is a very poor district of Lima and the whole area looks like a slum. I was pretty afraid walking there and getting robbed as I clearly looked like a tourist.
I found a vet who was very friendly and spoke very good English. Without hesitation he handed me a bottle of H for 39 soles. I couldn't believe it!! I thought: " Finally!!".
But he had only one bottle to sell and I asked for another one. He told me to come back the following day.
This was such a relief and I was happy. I drove back to my hotel and enjoyed Miraflores the rest of the day.

Day no 4. The big surprise.

I went back to Chorrillos to the vet. Surprisingly he told me that he forgot about me and promised me to get the H within two hours. I thought: "Ok whatever I'll wait". When I left the store I saw his employees driving off in a little van. I waited in a Starbucks about 1km away from the shop.
When I returned I experienced a big surprise. The vet suddenly couldn't talk English anymore and talked for a while in spanish. I was confused and wanted to know what is going on. I insisted on him to speak English and explain. Then he said he was very sorry he can't sell any more bottles to me because his supplier told him not to sell it without a prescription.
I realized they warned him and that he had no clue of suicide tourists before that day. He apologized a few more times and told me he couldn't help me any more. I was extremely disappointed and headed back to Miraflores.

Here now the rest of my experiences in Lima.
When I got back to the hotel from Chorrillos I decided to try it even further outside of Lima. I went to the city center in front of the president's palace and asked several taxi drivers to get me to Puente Piedra and back. But none of them spoke English and I couldn't make it clear that I wanted to come back the same day. They all told me "lejos, lejos" (too far).
Finally I found a taxi stand in the south west corner of the main plaza. He agreed to take me there and back for 120 soles. I know this is a lot but it was my only chance at that time.
When we arrived in Puente Piedra I was surprised of the traffic and the masses of people there. I expected a rather rural town.
Ok, to make a long story short, the shops there wouldn't sell it to me after I showed them the one bottle I already had. They didn't mention a prescription but they only spoke Spanish and I couldn't understand what they were trying to say.
When I returned to the hotel it was already late in the evening.

On the 5th and last day my moral standards were at level zero.
I decided to bribe the guy at zoofarma with 200$ for two bottles and then I would be done with it.
When I arrived at the National Stadium there were hundreds and hundreds of people in the streets. I wasn't aware that on the same day a soccer match would take place in the stadium.
There were police guards everywhere. The zoofarma shop was open but he fenced off the entrance so you couldn't get in. And I expected the guy in the shop not to accept my money with so many police guards around. So I went to the MALI Museum not far away (free WiFi there) and decided to wait an hour or so.
When I returned to zoofarma there were still three (!!) police guards right at the corner of the shop. I couldn't believe it! But this was the moment I gave up and convinced myself it wasn't meant to be.
I returned to the hotel in Miraflores to get my stuff and headed for the airport.

Ok guys, these were my experiences in Lima. They are not meant to discourage anyone. Maybe somebody else will be luckier than me.
One final advice from me:
If you are eager to try it in Peru, I suggest taking your driver's license with you and rent a car there. You might be luckier in the rural countryside further away from the city of Lima.
I hope my posts are helpful for anyone who is planning to go to Peru.

Sorry about your experience, did you rent a car there? If so, was it easy to navigate?

Unfortunately I forgot my driver's license at home. And no car rental would give you a car without one bc of insurance matters.

By bus. English is not my native language. In my mother language we always use the word "drive". No matter if you go by bus, car or bike. Maybe that's why. :)

Right at Av. Puente Piedra next to the Panamericana. There are two (at that spot) right next to each other. They have pictures of cattle on the outside of the shop. This is why I chose them.
Do you live there?
