i'm conflicted. if/when i ctb, my girlfriend will likely also ctb or at least have a miserable rest of her life. she loves me- to the point where she thinks im the reason shes not as depressed anymore, doesnt cut herself anymore, and that she sees me as her (basically) only source of comfort/happiness. right now, im not seriously considering to ctb, but if i do, wouldnt that be incredibly shitty towards her?

There is no way to get around the consequences of ctb and that includes the ctb contagion effect. You have to decide for yourself if you feel at peace with the decision to ctb in spite of the aftermath.

I definitely understand your dilemma. I'm in the same situation as you, and so is my partner. That's why we're still here and trying to make the best of it.

I just can't leave her behind. I think we'll go together one day.
