I wouldn't try to make those DIY sneakers myself. Moreover, I would probably be one of the judgmental people.

Such novelties are often created for the sole purpose of gaining likes on social media. Sure, it would be a great conversation starter and it shows your craftsmanship if it's well made. But I think there are many other better ways to do show off your creative talents.
