I've considered this -- not for freaking people out, which I want to avoid and is the reason I haven't -- but because it'd be a ""valid"", per the people around me and per my own internalized ableism and saneism, reason to put work and life on hold to focus on my mental health. Can't argue that my mental health isn't "bad enough" if it almost kills me, can we? (and if it DOES kill me, well, that'd solve the problem in a different way. ...but then the chance that it could is also a deterrent in a way, see "I don't actually WANT to distress the people around me.")Similar threads
