I mainly mean as an occupation, my school made us do assignments on it so kinda forced but you can answer whatever way. When I was really young, I said a psychologist. I said being an interior designer (I liked that one the most), and then I wanted to be a sociolinguist. My mother told me as a kid she could always see me working at a morgue. Anyway even as a kid I never truly envisioned a future for myself, so nothing came to be of those. I mean I also wanted to be dead but I never answered that way for obvious reasons. In high school (before I dropped out) I could not give an answer to the question, I couldn't see myself doing anything or wanting anything. I think most people don't have that passion though, not feeling connected to anything really. As a kid though all I truly wanted was peace and to live inside my imagination.

What about you?

I also had a variety of different answers as a kid, a new one pretty much every year. Don't remember all of them, but at different points I wanted to be a teacher, an environmental activist, an astrophysicist, a web designer or graphic designer, and finally, once I became more practical-minded in my teens, a software developer (which is the job I actually ended up having). I don't mind the work, and can sometimes find enjoyment in it, but it's certainly not a passion (and as you said, that's probably the case for most people).

Unfortunately, the world requires money, and it quickly becomes worse and worse as you grow up~ :( Jobs aren't fun, nor is the rest of life~ >_<
yeahhh, I feel the same about it being so forced tho~ >_< A lot of kids looked forward to growing up for some reason, but I did not! :( Maybe that made the whole process worse~ xD I remember having my first total breakdown about it in early elementary school~ altho, I really wish I could forget those memories~ >_<
In kindergarten, I wanted to be a paleontologist, but they didn't have any print-outs for that, so I had to be a construction worker instead~ >_< In 4th-5th grade, my 2nd best friend and I talked about founding a video game company~ In 7th grade, I wrote that I wanted to do statistics~ By the end of 9th grade, I just wanted to be anything but an adult~

When they asked us in kindergarten, I said I wanted to be Spider-Man.

As a teen, I wanted to join the RCMP. I even went to a special 2-week camp thing in Ottawa to visit where they train new recruits, I met the horses they use for the Musical Ride stuff, we met the SWAT team. I got to drive around their lil bomb disposal robot and keep the fake bomb that it shot at, a little cell phone.

I ended up too crippled to join the force, but I'm not mad. Disability saved me from being a pig. ACAB.

As a kid? taxi driver, astronaut, superhero, and for some reason I can't speak of -- a turtle. Later though, I only go with the flow. I don't need to worry about things so far ahead when not solving the problems in front of me would take away that future.

A vet. At some point the adults in my life had decided that I was going to be one. At 8 years old I'd already learnt how to people please.

Sorry things didn't work out. The camp sounds kinda fun.

Off topic: sorry I had to respond it's a cathartic topic
May all those who have died from police brutality rest in peace

i always told the adults around me i wanted to be an artist, the kind whose paintings you'd see hanging in a gallery.
buuuuut it turned out i am not gifted with a paintbrush :(
however after failing at getting enrolled in university i did become a graphic designer so maybe the dream came half true, just in a different medium

The camp was a great experience.

My school paid for it all, I was one of two kids from my city who were approved to go that year. We were on disability and couldn't afford the few thousand dollars it cost, I'm still grateful the principal arranged to have it all covered.

When I was little, a Doctor. My mom was very sick, in and out of hospital for the removal of cancerous tumors, so I wanted to heal her. Later in High School, a psychologist and then more practically, a beauty therapist. I wanted to help people to feel good and look good. None of that happened.

I always wanted to be an artist of some sort. I think I probably said an art teacher at one point, because my Dad was one for a short period. I quickly realised I wanted to do art rather than teach it though.

We did a careers questionnaire once. Computers were reasonably new at that time I believe. It came out that I should be a ship builder. Lol. Doubt I'm accurate enough for that.

Wow- your Mum thought you'd work in a morgue?! That's a very specific sort of job. Someone at work said he grew up wanting to be a porn star. I used to find that funny somehow. I imagine he would have done well. He seemed quite a player.

I've always thought that job was facilitating. It's a very impressive thing to be able to do. In high school for computers class we had to build a game as our main project, lets just say I was humbled real quick. :ahhha:

I briefly wanted to be a doctor, or at least a nurse in my mid teens, until I realized how dumb I was and that equally I couldn't save myself. My main passion was to become a professional wrestler, but that's a silly dream, albeit I'd probably be better at it if I tried now opposed to the fact I gave up in my late teens. One teacher who liked me said I'd be great in hospitality as I am naturally attentive with a great memory. But eh, it never appealed to me at all.

I used to say a photographer. Never had any interest in photos itself but I liked posing in front of a camera, and I guess I didn't think I was beautiful enough for a model or something. But, I mostly just said photographer because it seemed kinda.... not ambicious? and kinda like, neutral, but at the same time not smth every kid says.
they also didn't quite give us any choice and we HAD to pick something. Sometimes I used to even say a candy shop owner because I loved candy haha. Kids really are simple

When I was like 8 I would probably answer something like "An astronaut!" or "A youtuber!"
Nowadays I just wanna do something that gives me a purpose to live. I've been learning how to sing, write and compose just to make at least a single good song before CTB

Apparently, when I was very little, a police car. Then a writer. Then a teacher. I'm currently not sure, but I'm studying computer science and have done some very basic IT stuff before.

I always struggled with this question as a child as I never wanted to work really and was afraid of the future and being an adult. As a teenager I got into game development so at that point I would say a solo indie game developer which I basically am I guess (except I have only released one game so far lol)

Basketball player and astronaut. I figured playing basketball should be much easier on the moon.

Around 4th grade I started getting praised for doodling in class and people suggested I get into cartooning and animation. It took me until my sophomore year of college to realize I suck at drawing. 😔
