  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I've felt that way but if I really wanted to suffer through the process of that I could just double down on my unhealthy lifestyle and start smoking or something.

Yes. The fact that they are "granted" medicinal choices to exit peacefully because there is "no hope" for their situation to improve.

My situation will not improve.
It will not "get better."
There is no "healing" or closure.

No not at all. I've taken care of more patients than I can remember who have had terminal illnesses. And the pain and suffering that many of them go through is quite difficult. And most of them do it with a dignity and grace that I can not fathom ever having.

Yes. Because it seems to me that their pain and choice of dying with dignity is respected, rather than mental anguish. Patients with mental health as their sole or main diagnosis are treated worse than animals in healthcare

It may clarify things a bit. When the doctor tells you, yes, you will be dead in x number of months, you're forced to try to come to terms with being dead. Because you will be. I am always thinking of ctb,but I am no closer to ctb now than I was two years ago. Its bullshit. I dont want this life, but by God I don't want to See Tea Bee! Help!

no, I'd rather be in control of my life than an illness deciding for me.

It never ceases to amaze me that so many people are forced to die against their will, while others (us) are forced to live against our will.
The irony if life

No. Much better to be able to end things on your terms, your own hands and timeframe. No interest in letting Mother Nature or Father Time deliver the KO blow!

No, not at all. I wouldn't like to suffer more than I already do, I don't care if it kills me. If I had a terminal illness, I would still die by suicide, and people around me still wouldn't understand it.

No. I don't want anyone else to suffer. I've endured enough in life that I wouldn't wish that on anyone, either.

I had lung cancer last year, they removed it all and I'm in remission, but I have to admit that I was disappointed that I'm now cancer free.

I would prefer to know that death is close and l don't have to summon up the courage myself, certainly - but l could never say l truly envy the terminally ill, it's not as if they are lucky, it's an awful and terrifying experience and I've seen loved ones deteriorate rapidly and with great pain, to a point where they too wished for a quicker death to bring relief.

Earlier I used to be envious of those people in my life 'cause everyone seemed to care so much about them even if they were complete assholes in their life. But outside and in general, I am only jealous of those who die quickly due to their illness and not of those who have to suffer for years because of their conditions as I myself know what kind of hell that is.

No, I'm not.

My best friend's dad had thyroid cancer and he died a slow, drawn out, very painful death as his condition worsened by the day despite all the treatment (which only caused even more suffering). It was a terrible, tragic thing to watch him deteriorate. :aw:

In my Third World shithole of a country, we don't have euthanasia or assisted dying even for the terminally ill. Heck, even pain relieving opioid medications are difficult to obtain in this hellhole I live in.

I envy those who die before they are even born. They are so lucky not to have to suffer the pain and suffering that is guaranteed for a lifetime upon birth. They are very lucky, for they manage to avoid a life sentence followed by the death penalty.
