I have taken many years to learn how to be alone. The fewer relationships I have in my life beyond the acquaintance level, the less complicated my life becomes. Some people thrive on having a lot of people in their lives, me? I have fewer than a handful of friends and probably not more than 10 - 15 acquaintances, I wish there were even fewer, though. I am alone, but not lonely. I value peace in my life and being alone is peaceful. Am I happy? No. But I don't think we humans can have true happiness in this life any way. I am content and I think that's about as good as it gets.
