I was thinking about same,but i'm kinda stupid and can't think ahead properly.
I don't know if this video helps us or NYT just interpret video as proof that SS is needed to be closed/banned

Just my quick input. It's a bad idea. I also have a panic response to this and its caring about the admin and staff, and the site. I don't think a live suicide attempt would help at all, it'd do the opposite. I worry about Rain.

If anything it should be absolutely illegal to expose/doxx people on the site, from the members all the way up to the top. For anyone reading that's out there.

Protest deaths would legitimize their narrative that this place is a cult, and they could draw comparisons to the Jonestown incident; claiming that we "inspired" or encouraged people to take their own lives as a reaction to being shutdown.

A far more effective method would be to form a pro-choice organization advocating for legalized euthanasia, and actively changing minds with solid arguments; which is something that suicidal people probably don't have the energy or motivation to do. We would need an advocate who would be willing to be our voice, and share our stories.

That's the only way to change the minds of normans, I'm afraid. You need to meet them at their level and make the idea of sanctioned suicide palatable and easy to get behind; similar to how no one will denounce BLM as an organization or movement because being on the opposite side of the phrase "Black Lives Matter" makes anyone look bad. You have to frame suicide in the same way—making the argument that you would be denying someone peace and agency by not allowing them to have access to safe methods.

This tweet DOES NOT indicate that SS, or any of its members, are being sued. It is a letter from a group of reps to the Dept of Justice seeking answers about what, if anything, the DOJ can do to take action against this site.

Folks--political pressure goes both ways. Anyone can contact these members of Congress and demand that they stop persecuting this site and its members, and instead respect free speech, provide mental and other health services to those who need them, legalize medical aid in dying for the terminally ill, etc. If you do call, be polite and lay out your arguments thoughtfully, don't hurt your message. And remember that the folks answering phones are usually interns, not decisionmakers.

Wtaf. I'm so pissed off at the absolute audacity of some ppl who can put their dog out of misery but expect humans to suffer thru it. Act like they struggle too and can handle it so everyone should be able to. I cannot explain how angry I am about this. I was already having just one of the worst days and this just pushes me over the edge. No one should have the right to dictate what I do w my own life in terms of living and dying. Just literally sick to death of living. Sick of everything. Sry for the rant. Just in a lot of pain today

I agree with this and the former poster Chinaski. Your death would serve no purpose and would at worst make this forum truly shut down. What is happening with the restricted access is simply method threads, please do not do something rash because of that. Linked below is the thread. There is no reason for a streamed death.

Check my above comment and the thread link. The only thing shut down are method threads for the sake of protecting the website. As for goodbye threads, I'd imagine they're fine as long as they don't mention a method. You may wish to ask in the thread that was linked for an official moderator answer if you want a more confident answer.
