Probably difficult to stay awake for 10 days straight, but I've heard of drugs such as Crystal Meth, can keep you up for a few days

But let's say without using any hard drugs. Instead just try to do it with pure force and determination. Maybe add some caffeine, or related things

Do you think it might be possible??

I think the lack of sleep and being drugged like that would stop you from doing the drugs at one point and force you to sleep.
Sounds very painful.

Your mental state would very rapidly deteriorate and you'd probably be in a worse place than before. I've been having insomnia issues lately and twice in the past month, I've gone 72 hour periods with roughly 4 hours of sleep. I had mental breakdowns, more pronounced suicidal ideation, nightmares when I could manage to get a tiny amount of sleep, extreme depression, psychosis. I also think that, if you don't have one of the fatal forms of insomnia, your body will make you sleep eventually regardless of what you take or do. I'm thankful my body finally exhausted itself both of those times, I can't imagine being left in that state. It's also worth mentioning that even the fatal forms of insomnia take months to sometimes years to finally kill you.

It is possible but very very very very unlikely as your body will force you to go to sleep so I wouldn't suggest it. It sounds like pure agony to stay up for 10 or more days tho that might be me as I cope with life by sleeping.

I've had bad insomnia for decades since a young age where I was abused. I get around 40 minutes a night, usually a nightmare and then awake for the new day...

People said I was lying until I was in hospital for my seizures and they could see on the EEG I only could sleep for 40 minutes at max and days without any... Basically a horrible existence. But I'm more awake than anyone I know.. who literally can't keep awake.

Anyway, you wouldn't cope with it, I doubt you'd be able to go without sleep for that long, and your body would sleep regardless. Its not a viable method, it just is likely to make you irritable and psychotic.

I read and heard, that being without sleep for long period of time can trigger psychosis in person, even hallucinations.

I smoke crystal meth and the longest I have stayed up for a 6.5 days. I think it would be extremely difficult to do without meth, as its the strongest stimulant out there. Without it your most likely going to at least micro sleep before you get to dying. At a certain point you start hallucinating, you also feel like a sloth. I went into psychosis and then I slept for 2 days. It does feel like you're dying slowly but you might think your at the point of dying because your body is shutting down just to wake up later. Also I was 16 at the time of that time, now I could not even get close to that long. Its torture.

thats almost impossible. doesnt matter what you take or drink. by day 5 your body will fall apart. your memory, your thoughts...everything will go wack. And as soon as you give in you will be asleep for 2 days probably and have the worst nightmares.

you will have a better chance with just chocking yourself then this..

Yes initially. but you will have nightmares somewhere along the sleep. probably near the end, but am no expert.

atleast i remember having the most terrifying nightmare of my life after being awake for 3days when i was younger and stupider.

While it is possible to have heart failure after a 3-day-in-a-row gaming binge (google "video gamer dies after 60 hours"), there are also people who survived a world record for staying awake, at over 10 days (think 11+).

No. Your brain will sleep. Past 36 hours? Your brain will actually have microsleeps. Also your brain when it needs to sleep will basically just sleep. But death no. Worst case scenario you'll maybe catch a cold.

Another day, another incredibly unlikely method to CTB.

There's at least I'd say two to three very well documented methods in this forum that will most likely work and won't make you suffer much. What's with people on here coming up with these frankly bizarre methods and scenarios that will never work?

Yes, these two to three methods might not be that easy to reach and also cost money, but dude, it's your life and the last and most important thing you'll ever do. You should invest that kind of effort.

It is more likely to slip on a banana peel, fall and break your neck. Lack of sleep will cause many consequences but not death, the body will eventually physically break down and fall asleep.

I did crystal meth. I was awake for 14 days and was still alive. I still had energy to go another day without sleeping. It takes longer then 10 days to die without sleeping.

When I had covid, I did do (V)SED for a few days and started with no eating and gradually stopped any drinking.
I started to have trouble sleeping and started to have much worse high blood pressure.
After 2 days of nearly 0-1 hours sleep I started to hallucinate at night or dark places. Also I could not differentiate few times what is real or a dream.

Lack of sleep is actually one of the reason some people impulsively kill themselves. You will be disoriented mentally and physically so no it's not a method.

I think it's a lot more likely to get permanent brain damage than die... There is a prion disease that makes it almost impossible for a person to sleep, it takes many months of painful deterioration before death occurs. It's a horrible way to go.

Im gonna guess this is impossible. Never heard of somebody dying from lack of sleep. I have heard versions of this though. The body will just force you to sleep is why Im guessing this way.

Maybe we hear about it because it's news. Nobody writes about the 9998 people who stayed awake for 4 days and nothing happened to them. We hear about the one guy who died after 50h of computer games and the world record guy.

I don't much about this. It probably depends on your age, health, weight and other stuff. I personally had a moment in my life where I barely slept for a few months despite being very physically active. From my own experience I feel like our bodies are insane and seemingly are able to enter some "desperation mode" when needed. Your body won't let you just die. I wish it did.

I'm still interested in overdose ctb, although a lot of information here suggests otherwise. I mention this because I keep reading about cases where somebody died from a certain substance after some small doses. Something I learnt here is LD50 (Lethal Dose 50%), which means the quantity of a substance which causes the death of 50% of the given population of animals. Usually it's tested on rats. Sure, you can have cases where a human died after taking 2mg/kg of something, but usually that doesn't happen and it takes giving 10mg/kg each of that subtance to 10 rats and then only 5 of those die (just an abstract example).

true... and the ppl who go so many hours without sleep likely forget to drink water and/or eat, and the combination of the 2 is what kills (maybe when combined with other unhealthy behaviours and a bit of bad luck)

Also, LD50 might not match between different animals, eg horse LD50 in mg/kg will be higher or lower depending on the compound compared to rats and elephants (coz they evolved different livers for different needs)... tho they likely correlate a bit.

True, that's a good point. We don't know the LO50 for humans because we don't test on humans. It might be a lot lower/higher than others for some reason, there might be something about being a human/horse/rat that makes you more susceptible to a certain substance.

Need more than that 18 days is the record, and after many hours of sleep you would be like nothing happened, the people who have the very rare disease fatal familial insomnia which deactivates the ability of sleep take them like 6 months to die, this method is as effective as trying to hold your breath, dying of thirst or hunger are way more realistic because with extreme sleep deprivation when the brain says enough is enough you will shut down eventually

I can tell you that around day 3 heavy anxiety day 4 severe anxiety strange sensation of being severly itchy aswell day 5 heavy hallucinations and they can be intense day 6 the mood swing can become terrifying and violent... i got heavy medication at that point...my insomnia stems from my H.E caused by my failing liver.. i can see that it could be possible but more likely it would be due to doing something that you belive you could do while in a delirum and phsycotic state a lack food and fluids would also make things worse causing severe kidney pain and damage.. your behaviour would be like beliving you could fly or climb walls (which it does feel like).. accidental death would be the cause ..
