Anyone taking SN without testing purity? Anyone ingested it in the past without testing?

A bit of a stupid question seeing as it's added security if I test the purity. However I live with others, and both the aquarium test + blood test can raise suspicion. The time window I'm planning this is also limited, so I'm not sure I have enough time.

I plan to weigh it and take it out the container for the first time on D-Day. I've put down some info about my SN and I believe it's reliable enough to skip the purity testing. But I'd like to think this over, hence the question.

• I was wondering if anyone is going to ingest it without testing the purity?
• If you've ingested it before, did you test out purity?

A little about my SN:
- Sodium Nitrite pure p.a. (Formula: NaNO2)
Chemical reagents (Pure for analysis)
- Quality standards says contents is min. 98.0%
- WE Number: 231-555-9
- CAS Number: 7632-00-0
- Expiration date: 01/2030
- Comes from a reputable chemical wholesaler
- Airtight container that's unopened and stored inside a carton box. It hasn't been exposed to either air nor moisture.

I too plan on ingesting it without testing it's purity. I bought it from an official chemical store from my country, I never opened the sealed plastic bottle and I kept the unopened bottle in a ziploc baggie. I think my SN should be good enough. Also the expiry date (retest date) on mine is 2029.

from what i heard, it's really cheap to produce, so that's why there's PROBABLY a low chance of it being fake, but idk

That makes a lot of sense considering the mass production of curing salt has to be done for all kinds of foods.

I'm pretty sure mine is authentic. But it's the degradation to Nitrate that worries me, I suppose. Anywho, crosses my fingers it goes well

I only ordered 50g of SN so my hands sorta been forced to ingest it without testing the purity— I bought from DSL.

Does your SN bottle has a CoA (Certificate of analysis) number? It's usually bunch of numbers on the bottle itself. If you input these numbers on the website of the chemical store you bought the SN from, it will give you many details of the batch your bottle came from, including the purity percentage.

Thank you! This is very helpful. The website has a "CoA" section where I could fill in the product batch number + product catalog number.

I filled everything out and waiting for the product quality certificate (CoA) to be sent to my email now.

You are welcome. I didn't know this myself until recently. The very polite lady that worked at the chemical store told me this.
