I have no license which makes it hard to go anywhere. I just hate seeing ppl online always talking about affordable healthcare in other countries, even in countries ppl say are worse than America. I just feel like I'm screwed being here and should've left before turning 18 because my life is ruined now. I hate it when tourists come here. I hate that there's no escape. I just hate it all so much.

I've never even used a gun before. I'd rather live in a country where the government actually helps ppl instead of living in a country worse then third world countries.

Living in a better countries makes u not want to ctb. I used to wish a shooting would happen at my school so I wouldn't have to go. I don't ever go to the dentist or doctors and still receive no help at all. I literally hate people who live here, I live in a tourist spot (Florida) and I always wish there were gangs here who robbed tourists so they'd stop coming. I have never been able to go to Disney world or universal yet that's why so many ppl travel here. You can't imagine how that feels. It makes everything much more depressing.

Sorry but this comment is really ignorant. If you live in a good country ur less likely to think about suicide or become suicidal. There's countries where they don't have homelessness, I grew up seeing it, even near my school. If you live in a country like the Scandinavian counties where they don't have that, u have no idea what a blessing that is. I talked to a guy on here from the Netherlands who lived in a beautiful neighborhood and he became suicidal bc he did too many drugs and ruined his life. That's different from ppl who were just born in a shitty area. It doesn't even snow where I live. I've never even held a gun before so I don't care about gun rights. Even if u like guns u can just live in a better country that has guns. There's nothing special about America. It's a country made to struggle, especially in the south. If you struggle you are completely by yourself and nobody wants to help because helping is considered communism or socialism.

Trust me I live in a supposed government help country. If you are a young man you will be put to work anywhere on earth and will be last in line for the shitty free 'elfcare the government offers. You get taxed way more and make way less.

i feel you, i fucking hate it here lol. i've always had medical problems and have had to watch my body deteriorate due to the fact that healthcare is so expensive here and that i don't have family to support me. doesn't help being trans and watching a situation that will likely result in my death unfold in real time

I'm just tired of talking to ppl from all over the world on here who can always tell that I live in USA. I talked to a guy in India who said his life improved so I asked him how, he told me the place he started going to, and I looked it up and his healthcare facility was much cheaper than here. Then ppl always ask "do u live in USA" like everyone just knows that all those things are unaffordable here. It just makes me embarrassed.

It's more expensive here because there's more wealth here. They charge more because they can. Seriously, that's it. It's bs still, but ultimately just greed.

I live in a country that has zero homeless people and i am suicidal, problem with america it's polarized between the rich and the poor, if you are part of the poor then it's hell.

I agree that a national healthcare service should seem like a right to me. I love the idea of it anyway. We are born and forced to pay into a society after all. The least it can do is take care of our health- so that we are able to work for it.

I love the idea of the NHS in the UK but, the reality is that it's struggling terribly. It's very hit and miss regarding how you are treated.

I'm not sure how taxes work in the US. We pay National Insurance contributions on top of Income Tax and Council Tax in the UK- to fund our social healthcare and services. I guess in the US, individuals are expected to pay into independent insurance policies. I'm not sure how the rates compare though.

For example, someone on £20k ($26,600) a year in the UK will be expected to pay nearly £560 ($740) a year National Insurance- on top of £1,486 ($1,977) Income Tax. Plus, Council Tax and obviously VAT on all their purchases. We can be clobbered with Inheritance Tax and Stamp Duty Tax in certain circumstances too.

The National Insurance we pay is regardless of whether we use any of the services or not. There again- people aren't generally refused health care if they haven't paid in.

I think that is something to consider- is 'free' actually free? Or, are we paying more in taxes in order to have those 'services'. Google seems to think for example that the US is more lenient with taxes than the UK. Or, was anyway- the figures it pulled up are years old:

'According to 2022 figures from the OECD, the US tax burden was 27.7% of GDP, significantly lower than the UK's 35.3% in 2023. The OECD found that US taxpayers had the lowest tax burden among G7 countries.'

So- in effect- those of us that are working- are in fact paying for what we get. It isn't strictly speaking: 'free'.

It means we do get a whole load of free loaders no doubt too- so- that's the flip side of the coin. Would you be happy paing £1000's into a big pot of money and having next to no say how that money is allocated? So- by chance- you may pay for your neighbours treatment but, they haven't funded the drug research needed for your Mum.

This is a major contention when it comes to immigration in the UK. It seems obvious that people who have generations upon generations who have paid into the system get pissed off when their dear granny is lefy to rot while those newly arrived here get treatment. So- it's not all sun and roses with 'free' healthcare. It has its own issues- it actually can contribute to racial tensions for instance.

Ya it's like that a lot in the south there's immigrants here who don't speak English and never bother to learn it. Most of them get government housing. Someone like me who's a citizen doesn't get any of that because I don't have anyone who cares about me and advocates for me. At this point I don't even want to work here or pay taxes because it's not fair. I don't even like where I live and I don't get any free housing. Tbh I don't understand how any of it works, like usually black people here have big families with 5 kids and somehow they are able to afford it. Meanwhile I have no sibling to hang out with and am alone all the time and am basically stuck like this, no way to get out. America is fucked up, there's fat people who get food assistance and sometimes I just eat cereal because I don't have any ingredients to make a meal. This country is retarded. If I was able to get help earlier in life I would've immigrated away the year I turned 18. I never see any of my family anyways so there's nothing here for me.

I think Britain brought it on itself to an extent. You can't build an 'Empire'. Effectively steal other people's lands, tell them they're all British now and, not expect them to then expect to have rights and a place in Britain. Also- I want to clarify that I didn't mean it as a general comment. Plenty of immigrants here work harder than the natives!

But yeah- the downside of social systems that supposedly look after everyone for 'free' is that people flock towards them- obviously. And, while I love the idea of charity and helping others- not to the point where we neglect our own families.

If you think you qualify for benefits then- you would need to make the effort to apply. It's the same here. You need to shout loudly to get assistance. While it would be great if we all had people who look out for is, it's sometimes not the case. It can become the reverse even. Some of my friend's parents are showing symptoms of dementia. Others have had strokes. It can get to a point that it's down to younger members of the family to try and find help. Are you homeless then? That's awful. Is that really preferable to asking the authorities for help?

Some of my family members claimed that certain cultures/ religions try to encourage its members to have 5 children. They have this paranoia that it's about them trying to take over. It's weird because- practically speaking, they are pretty kind and fair to everyone but, they do have certain racist paranoid thoughts.

ב''ה, I make jokes about it but in part because of the legacy of slavery and racism (now truly incredibly bidirectional across that one permanent US culture divide) anything involving public assistance and public goods is now this massive exercise in the equivalent of regulatory capture.

That is, the underprivileged side of US society 'had to' up until, y'know, 2008, but now it's been both 'cool' and 'the essence of US society' to follow that lead.

Thing is, it's two full time jobs to even figure out what assistance is available, but there's a plethora of generally specifically churches with the funds to hire personnel to do that for their members.

(I am saying Black culture originally had to figure this out as a matter of survival, Reconstruction through LBJ through Reagan and Bush and Clinton and Bush, but now it's.. absolutely everyone, and particularly every foreign culture that didn't shoot their television before noticing how the Black now majority in USA pulled it off to make work optional. Thing is when it's church mediated and Judaism in particular has this belief in 'honest work,' "don't be Jewish" unless you want to be limited to the only through claiming autism Schindler's List Of Adderall jokes about that.)
