Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

That's not cutting of the throat. 51.5% success rate according to lost all hope.According to a Harvard study called "Lethality of Suicide Methods" cutting as a method works 1.2% of the time in the U.S- that is a 1 out of 87 chance of working. It is nearly imposssible to ctb this way, though in rare cases it can work. However, it is nearly certain to give you a scar that you will have to explain to everyone, and which could result in involuntary hospitalization.
That may be, this is all cutting, not necessarily of the throat- many people try by the wrist and fail. STill, would you want a 50% chance of a bad scar and involuntary hospitalization? It still seems too risky to me.T

It could look pretty cool if you purposefully get fucked up stitches. That may be, this is all cutting, not necessarily of the throat- many people try by the wrist and fail. STill, would you want a 50% chance of a bad scar and involuntary hospitalization? It still seems too risky to me.
Does ANY method of ctb sound anything else but awful?Sounds awful
Yes. Sn is is a method that when it fails people are really sick for a coulpe of days but they typically don't have lasting damage. Thta's the question to ask- what happens if the attempt fails.Does ANY method of ctb sound anything else but awful?

Stabbing causes less bleeding. You want to slice at an angle.I have considered it when I was desperate, but I backed out realizing I would probably fail. When you get stabbed, you are supposed to not pull out the knife because it is keeping pressure so that you don't bleed out faster.
Perhaps if I was very impulsive, I could stab myself in the neck, but I doubt I would be able to pull it out or even exert enough force to cut deep enough. SI would then make me call the ER, getting me into more med bills.
And being sent to a ward afterwards is just a cherry on top.
It lowers the bleeding and blocks the flow.I wonder if rather than slicing, a stab to the throat would be easier? It could be done more on impulse and requires less self-control, would be slightly less painful but one would still bleed out rather quickly.

There was a member who described a very gruesome attempt. They sawed into their neck, said it was harder than you would think and made the surgeons cry.
I bet it would work if it was a train wheel cutting through your neck across a train lineAccording to a Harvard study called "Lethality of Suicide Methods" cutting as a method works 1.2% of the time in the U.S- that is a 1 out of 87 chance of working.
