These do have a strong sedative affect so I find they do stifle my creative side but on the whole they've kept me from ctb so I can't complain so much

Sertraline helps me not feel depressed, but my suicidal thoughts aren't tied to depression so it doesn't stop those. Of course, everyone's body is different so what works for me may not work for you.

In my experience it was the best anti depressant, but everyone is different. I've gone through 5 different SSRIs and it was the best i've had

This is just my experience but sertraline really helped me, especially with suicidal thoughts. My depression disappeared for like 3 years and I was a fully functional human being but stopped working in the middle of my fourth year taking it. I was hella suicidal going off of it so now I'm taking venlafaxine which is working but not with my anxiety :(
